This mysterious fellow has quite a few businesses, such as serving as a judge in the "Beefalo Pageant" or running the treasure business of his "Trade Inn". In that case, how about adding some other business for him? For instance, selling "Gingerbread Cookie" or "Festive Light" in winter, occasionally visiting you with a homeless "Baby Beefalo" or "Smallbird", or collecting some garbage you don't need and randomly throwing some other garbage at you? This is the reason why I like this guy. You'll never guess what surprises are hidden under his coat.

oh absolutely. I think his stock is pretty egregious as it is, I suppose it is consistent for story telling that he would sell moon shards after a lunar hail but... are you for real? Moon rocks. a grand total of 2-4 moon rocks can be sold from him POST CC. That's a bit silly, but I don't really care if he sold anything like pure brilliance or stuff similar. I'd like it if he had a higher stock, and sold other things. have the guy sell tools, weapons and armor. You can use the same reason klei might've made him sell moon shards to have him sell tentacle spikes. Perhaps this might even give us a new opportunity to get a walking cane or tusk before winter?

If you want to talk balancing the sky is the limit, it's just a matter of pricing.

Wandering Trader should be clearly marked on the map.

This is extremely necessary. Players often run all over half of the map to find him in exchange for some basic resources, but still may not be able to find him. This is very annoying.

Klei can use this guy as a way of giving people who join worlds a fair chance to get started, for example “the first times free”

He can spawn at the florid and give first time world joiners some sticks, grass & flint to get started (and so they do not immediately die as soon as night fall comes and they were unable to find any of these items nearby)

I also think he should obviously sell Beefalo Fur, I don’t know his full list of goodies so he probably already sells it, I just think that a dude who hangs out disguised as a Beefalo probably gathers their fur when they shed to keep his own costume disguise up.

I do think he should sell better stuff the more you progress because the only thing new that he gets is after killing cc he can sell moon shards. Which at that point are useless since you have tons from killing cc. I think the more biomes you explore. He could sell things from there. Like Birchnuts so you still have a way to obtain them in winter. Or live critters like butterflies and bees etc. it'll make him more than just useless content. The most I ever did with him was buy gears in my wx playthrough

Not sure if you guys know this or not but if you search “pigskin” into your scrapbook it’ll show a picture of the Wandering Trader.

(7th Icon over) But if you LT on Xbox (unsure about other console controls sorry) you can actually tab over onto the Trader Guy Himself and Click A to View his Scrapbook entry as well as all possible trade items you can have with him (if you have discovered them)

But… this dude should sell ROT seeing as Rot that use to just accumulate all over your world now washes away in Rain. ROT & NITRE & Bee Stingers too actually… because a newbie is going to die, and they’re going to die ALOT…. And each time they Die their maximum total health will be decreased with a health penalty that can only be restored with a Booster Shot. You need 8 ROT to craft a Booster Shot, so maybe this dude should give you Rot if you exchange grass, twigs, flower petal etc.. to him?

OR he could alternatively just sale an already crafted booster shot but on a cooldown timer before restocking it..?

I’m just trying to make the starting out phase for DST first timers a little more understandable & not frustrating each time their health bar gets lower and lower.

Also… Klei needs to add Seeds to this guys inventory, why? Because for one there’s an entire curio cabinet mini game where he has a ton of dialogue about birds, no wait actually there’s Raven Wrappers AND the Messy Maze.

But while those are the LORE reasons he should carry bird seeds, the GAMEPLAY reason is because I’m currently trying to enjoy the limited time midsummers Cawnival event and waiting for birds to drop enough seeds to build the Cawnival is an absolute pain in the backside, ALL structures for Corvious Goodfeather requires seeds. And just to build all four golf courses will require a minimum of 15 seeds.
