it used to be one of the things i enjoyed seeing skilled players do!

I still enjoy it. Can you DM the links to your contributions? I might learn a thing or two.

personally i think you might consider trying more bespoke plays for a while.

Sure, it's been a while. I think I am done returning with Wilson. I'd try another world with max creature spawn rate, then see what issues arise.

well that is going to be hard XD i'm not in either of the discords anymore and it is a nightmare trying to find old videos on twitch(not everyone saves old streams and twitch removes them over time) but i did find the first none-world challenge i posted on here after a ridiculous amount of digging;

A “Hard Mode” in DST should be more like the Shipwrecked DLC, meaning that… Spider Warriors that hit the player should inflict them with Poison Damage that slowly ticks their health down unless cured.

Other things that should be changed for “Hard Mode” is that Bearger should just go around eating the Moon Glass off of Trees and Transform into Armored Bearger instead of being something the player can just Opt to NOT kill so it can’t become Armored.

Also there’s the whole “burning of corpses before they can mutate thing” yeah that shouldn’t be possible in “Hard Mode”

He just dies from eating too much glass? Does he think they're rock candy?

If you stand in one area long enough the birds that rain out of the sky during lunar hail will land on the ground already dead, then the Lunar Thrall or whatever those things are called will show up and posses the birds body, they then mutate into either the Moonblind crow, the spit lobbing bird or the Ravenous Raven I think he is called? Eitherway these birds (& the buzzards too I think?) will approach things that are covered in Moonglass rain and will peck and eat the Moonglass & Infused Moonshards.

Bearger however… eats anything it thinks is food that’s just left laying around. But for this to be “end end End game content” the player can Ignore Beargers existence (and use him for free wood chopping services) it’s only when a Bearger dies that it can become the Armored Variant, and players can opt to avoid it doing that by simply not killing it, or burning its corpse before thralls have a chance to posses it.

To me it sounds logical that a Bearger would go around eating the Moonglass or Infused shards like the birds do, this is a creature you can trick into killing itself by just leaving a bunch of Redcap laying around for it to eat…

So I view Moonglass & Infused Moonshards as being like this sort of irresistible alien food that the mobs will “eat” but they don’t know that it’s harming them until it’s too late.

A proper “hard mode” shouldn’t let players opt out of Armored Bearger spawning. 🤷🏻‍♂️
