The new clockworks now have a stun mechanic when damaged by electric damage.

WX-78, when damaged by electric damage should suffer from the same consequences himself.

The player’s vision would completely go black.

No clocks, no stat bars. Pitch black.

Then, some mechanical and computerized “restart” of his system showing up on the screen, before ending the stun.

Weaken the character? It's a good idea... but...

I agree but make it less annoying.

I think it should only happen while:

1. He has max charge.

2. He doesnt have an electric circuit or insulation.

3. He would need to be shocked 3 times or something. Idk

It's more likely that they don't know what "NERF" is

I mean... that just means straight up death if you are clearing ruins and a bishop gets a hit on you. Would get annoying real quick. Also WX goes hyper in solo DS when they are struck by lighting so idk. Also it would be extremely annoying with moonstorms.

You can avoid electric damage with clothing, and the stun wouldn’t be as long as the clockwork’s stun, just a quick restart. Do you really think that while wearing armor, you will get killed when standing still for 5 seconds?

Wasting a backpack/mag/armor slot just to not get stunned? No thanks. If you're wearing thulecite you will probably survive but if you're wearing anything worse, then you are dead 100%. Don't know how quick the animation you mentioned would be but I imagine any animation of rebooting feels like it would be a large window to get crushed, I can see it work if it's going to be like sleep where on getting hit you instantly get up then it could work. Lights out blinding is  cool as a concept but it could get annoying as well. Also I'm not sure on this but I think they buffed bishops damage so you might still die if you get ganged up by a bunch of clockworks and nightmares. Another thing, the bishop will hit you back to back when you're rebooting so there's also that, may need a cooldown for stuns. I really don't like stun mechanics, can't count how many times I got shredded while on Wolfgang and his form changes are pretty quick.

I mean, when you go to a place with electric damage that can stun you, you can just equip the electric circuit. Doesn’t it also give you electric resistance?

yes and since hes a robot just like warbot he should transform into warbot with 999999 health yes

Have to disagree here. Excess electricity has always been a good thing for WX-78, even in original Don't Starve. It should just replenish their circuit charges instead of doing anything negative.

WX-78 is a Voxola robot while the clockworks are much older and inferior mechanical organisms. He's built to take shocks better.

fair point

I mean, WX is clearly not the same as the clockworks? He's a different kind of robot/machine.

It's why (I think) clockworks are still aggressive towards him, albeit with a lower aggro radius.

I'd rather him be connected to clockworks in different ways than adding an annoying stun mechanic... We all know how much the playerbase loves getting stunned...

Remember Wolfgang? Yeah.

The stun effect can probably be limited to getting shocked while wet (even if it’s at 1%) proving WX is a much more advanced clockwork while still maintaining a certain coherence with the rest of the older-model clockworks

The Ancients probably designed the clockworks to be resistant to moisture rather than lightning, considering their civilization was based underground.

Wagstaff was thinking he'd stop any rogue machines with a glass of water, but just happened to yeet WX into a portal instead. (WARBOT is our problem to deal with, not his.)

i love how everyone is lookin for ways to make the game worse instead of improving, nerf nerf , remove. even if its not necessary cz why not

instead of this u couldhv gone with something useful like changing one of weakerbottom's useless books "end is nigh" and make it have aoe on each of the lightnings, just like the bishop, but instead u chose nerf nerf everything and play wolfgang
