Harder version of AF is not using weather pains and saving resources.

Easier version of AF is using gunpowder and losing resources.

I mean... You know what I'm saying. You're just arguing for argument's sake. You understood my point.

This line of reasoning is beautiful here on the forum, but it's just a fallacy used by those who want to trivialize all bosses, turning them into Treeguards. A simple example is Dragonfly. Almost all players use walls, including newbies, veterans, and speedrunners. If it's in the game, the devs know and allow it, so it's meant to be used. The few people who face Dragonfly without walls will use the Pan Flute when it gets enraged. And the very few people who play against the enraged form do so to make a YouTube video once in their lives and then return to traditional forms (or maybe they're using Wurt, who doesn't actually fight anyone but his minions).

Klaus follows the same logic. Anyone who dares to face him in his enraged form is using a broken character, that is, Wurt or Weber. They are, in fact, outsourcing the fight to followers. The fact that someone uses a Wolfgang or Wanda in a video doesn't reflect the reality of that content creator at all.

It's the same logic as speedrunners who complete AFW using cheese in minutes. That's not the reality of the game. It's that simple.

Ancient Fuelweaver doesn't need a rework. AFW is an optional boss. You don't even need him to access the rifts (game settings). This means the player can plan the exact moment they want to face this boss. All the loot from this boss is extremely powerful, in addition to resetting the ruins, giving many gems, thulecites, gears, gold (Frazzled Wires), etc. So this boss charges a very fair price for what it returns.

Furthermore, all the old bosses are being indirectly nerfed every day.
Characters are becoming more powerful with reworks or skill trees, in addition to new resources that break classic bosses.

Want to fight AFW on easy mode?
Simple: use Brightshade Staff + Volt Goat Chaud-Froid + Chili Flakes. Don't feel comfortable using the items above? Then learn how to defeat him with Wilson.

The problem clearly isn't AFW, but rather some people here on the forum.
They want to defeat AFW on day 25, but they can't due to lack of skill, and therefore they want Klei to make the boss easier to suit their style. They can't wait until day 35 to use Weather Pain or wait even longer to have easy mode activated.

I know I don't have the skill to defeat AFW on day 25. So I'll leave it for after day 40. And I don't need to come to the forum wanting the boss to be made easier for me.

Look, just because you don't like fighting bosses for the fun of it, it doesn't mean that other players don't like it. Don't just assume everyone plays the same way as you.

It's obviously more popular to cheese Dfly than it is to fight her properly, but there are a fair number of people who like fighting it properly. Because yanno... It's a game. People play games to have fun. If a fight is fun, people do it for the funsies too.

You do realize that "Nerf AFW" is a recurring topic on these forums and every time it is brought up, there are people who want it to be nerfed because the fight feels unfair, and then there are other people who love the fight for what it is and want no changes, right?

There are people who enjoy AFW for what it is, that's why they don't want changes... The same applies to every other interesting boss in the game.

Facing AFW in 2016 was difficult. Facing AFW in 2026 is another difficulty. Whether you admit it or not, all the classic bosses have been and continue to be nerfed (indirectly). AFW is only very difficult for those who want to defeat it on the 25th with a standard character (Wilson). The last clear nerf was to the Bee Queen with the introduction of the T.I.N.G.L.E. Node.

Actually, I don't realize that. What I do realize is that it's always the same people asking for nerfs, and the way they've been asking for it for a while tells us they're not novice players. These experienced players know very well how to make fighting AFW easier with valid strategies, but they need the boss to be rendered useless like the Crab King to feel better psychologically and think they've become more skilled with the nerf. That's what I think, to be quite honest.

Ill do a poll. Also nerf wurt is a recurring topic. Though thats mostly me (though alot of former wurt players dont like her anymore). If it one or two people bringing it up doesnt mean it represents the majority.

I can assure you that plenty of people find AFW hard even with Wolfgang and Brightshade Staves.

It's the problem of being too deep into the 1000+ hours player mindset. You forget that not everyone has the same level of skill as you in this game... Like, you talk as if every player has been fighting AFW for 10 years... Which is definitely not the case. Plenty of enfranchised players still struggle plenty with that boss.

Oh, I never said that it represented the majority. In fact, anything said in these forums don't represent the majority, because these forums don't represent the average player.

I just said that it was a recurring topic because there is a demand for it from a certain segment of the playerbase.

I honestly have no idea if the majority of the playerbase would be happy with AFW nerf... Realistically speaking, they probably wouldn't care, because the majority of the playerbase most likely doesn't even know how to summon AFW.
