Speed and nightvision

I alternate between this or refrigerant/heating circuit + illumination circuit. Sometimes I'll get the electrifying circuit once I have bone armors. Almost never touched the HUN/SAN/HP circuits, actually never touched the musicbox circuit (granted largely because I eventually leave Jimmy at base early on and forget him when I go visit pearl)

I feel like most WX players are gonna use mainly speed since you're so heavily penalized for swapping and speed's what's useful in the most situations. Such a horrible way to implement that system, you have the potential for a character with swappable customizable builds and you reduce it to c_speedmult() plus light or night vision by making it never worth it to swap without literal days of prep time (during which you could've done whatever and with extra speed anyway).

Yeah it’s a shame I’ve started play them again and I wanted to make their other circuits work but I’ve ended up with two speed and the super gastrogain circuit because the other ones just aren’t cutting it for me

I go for speed and illumination and the last slot I’m fine with any of the 1 slot ones. If I played solo I’d do the night vision one more but the illumination one is better with friends since it gives them light too.

Ive never used any of the other circuits. I agree with what other ppl have said, I think the wx rework was a net positive overall and they’re still really fun to play but I do wish you weren’t so heavily punished for swapping circuits both by the recharge time and their limited durability.

I wouldn't use speed circuit beyond early game and get a beefalo instead, the thing is that I don't play WX and If I ever played him the reasoning would be that he could solve the usual dangers/issues with permanent light and thermal/refrigerant circuit.

The problem is that WX doesn't have much going for him, while these abilities are quite powerful there aren't many options and some other characters have him clearly beat but hopefully his skill tree will make him more viable.

WX should store circuits in bookshelves to repair them.

That's not even the worst part, the worst part is that it nukes your charge and charge takes way too long to regen if you don't have a pet Winona. Yeah, you can get electric milk to regain charge, but... that's just not viable. Why can't we munch electrical doodads for a quick recharge?

For early game I like speed + nightvision. I think most people agree that this is the  most convenient setup in general.

When I go treasure hunting, I really like using illumination circuit + chorus box. Being on a boat for extended periods of time will drain all your sanity, and dealing with ocean shadows is not fun to me.

Once permanent fullmoons are enabled, I like to switch it up. I experimented a lot with speed + health + electric circuit. It can help a lot when dealing with hordes of enemies, because the stun spreads through mobs standing close together. But it also sets everything that drops leafy meat on fire, so you can only fight lord of the fruitflies and deadly brightshades, when you also got a flingo next to your farm.

Double speed + health, or double health + speed are also really nice. One big health circuit gives 150 hp, which is a ridiculous amount. Can be really handy when fighting new bosses you haven't tried yet, or generally wanna care less about getting hit/overheating/freezing.

The hunger circuits can be really nice, if you just wanna focus on building base (if you don't have other people that provide food for you). With one big hunger circuit you don't have to eat for almost 4 days, and with 3 of them you don't have to eat for 11 days straight. It's surely very situational, but I find it's not quite as useless as people like to make it out to be.

Refridgeration circuit can also come in clutch, on public servers especially. Yesterday my friend made a big farm on a lategame pub, and wanted 2 more flingos, but people had used up all the ice he farmed. I collected 2 stacks of mosquito sacks in the swamp, that were just laying around, and filled them to make waterballoons. Then I equipped the cold circuit and threw the balloons on me, to make 2 ice per 5 balloons, and used a construction amulet to craft the 2 flingos.

The electric circuit is really good now. I use that quite often.

I dunno. Night vision is huge on boats.
