The fact that they can be prototyped from a special science machine is very strange. Previously, no generally available crafting from special science stations could be prototyped. And these two items, for some reason, can.

Why are only two items prototypable and the others not? Why can't we prototype a pick/axe or a gloomerang? Well, that's just stupid.

Also, since these two items are now assigned to the tools and weapons tab, it's possible to obtain blueprints for them from tumbleweeds.
So, you practically don't need to visit Lunar Island to learn these recipes. Which is also stupid.

Instead of being prototypable, it should be possible to craft a set of their blueprints.
Turf from the Ruins works that way, after all. So why shouldn't these items do the same?

By the way, Moon Crater Turf and Mutated Fungal Turf should also have their own set of blueprints to craft.

These days, players can't just remember the recipes for these two turfs. So, such a change would be a really nice QOL.

Yeah, it's strange and I'm scared for what the community and/or Klei could push in the future, by stepping on the cool game design and balance of the ancient pseudostation and lunar altars.

The blueprints I didn't know it and Klei should immediately remove it.

I feel like this is an extremely minor concern in the grand scheme of things. Why would you go through all the trouble to roll the blueprints themselves, which is an immense RNG grind, compared to just... Going to a consistently predictable island with a guaranteed altar generation (while also doubling as a source of initial burst shards) to craft the items?

I don't have major gripes with the concept of them being blueprint sources (turf would be especially handy for my cases), it just feels a bit silly to say it somehow is a significant problem.

Yeah, I know it's not really a big deal. But I just wanted to mention it.

The world will absolutely not burn on fire for the blueprint but why keep it? Just remove it and move on.
