Why does the Moon caller staff deconstruct into shadow fuel

The thing got bombarded by lunar radiation, right? Why does it still drop shadow fuel despite it's lunar status?

Also, is that gem lunar, shadow or an inbetween type of magic? 

probably a lunar stick, since its blue.

its a very minor lore inconsistency, but since some minor things like the name of the horror penguin havebeen changed before this could be tweaked too.

it is still made with shadow magic despite the transmutation of it's stone through the lunar event

Probably because they're fragile. They usually shatter when falling from the ceiling in earthquakes. Iridescent likely has a sturdier internal structure, or something.
