my favorite part of exploring hamlet's ancient ruins was always the foreboding, creepy music that played when in them. and since the new ancient vault seems to be leading up to something scary, some nice music to wander these winding halls to might be nice

i made a simple tune to show what i mean, here:

I completely agree. Environmental music has a great impact on the atmosphere. I think the music played in the Moon Mushroom Forest and Archives is too mediocre for cave music, and the music in the ruins is too oppressive and dark. These areas should have their own unique voices.
The same goes for environmental sound effects. Currently, the volume is a bit low, especially in ruins where you can hardly hear it. The ruins also lost the unique environmental sound effects of the nightmare phase, which should be restored.
