Hello,

So in the recent beta miasma was expanded on a bit more being given an actual area in game where it exists naturally besides the shadow rift and ink blight thralls. Shadow Miasma has two properties: the first is reducing health around 1.5 health every ~2 seconds and the second is causing the "sandstorm" slowdown effect. The shadow cowl is the only item able to remove the slow health drain from the Miasma, however only the Brightshade helm, Astroggles and Desert Goggles can remove the "sandstorm" effect. Although the Miasma isn't a required gate for content, it is less annoying to interact with goggles, but requiring a surface item when caves should have the answer to its own problem is concerning.

The Void Cowl should gain the "Sandstorm" immunity effect, even if it means removing its ability to ignore Miasma damage, like the Brightshade Helm for the Void Cowl is much weaker than its lunar counterpart for it:

  • Does not provide immunity against Charlie
  • Does not have any extra immunity against Nightmares, despite the BS helm allows you to ignore Gestalts/Greater Gestalts
  • Does not give Sandstorm protection (The mask fully covers the face so I don't see why this couldn't also be the case)
  • Has the shadow reaper remain extremely reliant on it, for despite the Shadow Reaper's higher damage it is only the result of chain of damage and without the Cowl it only does 56 damage which is around the damage of a tentacle spike. The Brightshade sword does 68 damage, the same as a darksword, even without the Brightshade Helm's boost.

Another suggestion is to make the Void Cowl have the player retain a shorter aggro distance around Nightmare creatures, akin to WX-78 and Clockworks. This would make it so the player has leverage around nightmares but can't ignore them, and would give the armor an ability similar to the Brightshade helm when it makes the gestalts passive.

If Moonstorm cause base arson, then all headgear must have sandstorm resistance to deal with them, including "None".

Jokes aside, if you're giving initiative to Void Cowl in response to Brightshade Helm's sandstorm immunity, I prefer something like "Falling items immunity" as same Hardwood Hat rather than just giving it sandstorm immunity. Aggro reduction against Nightmare creatures is fine.
