On the subject of increasingly difficult bosses for a game where deaths should be avoided, I have the perfect idea for the archives gateway:

Boss fight simulations

The gateway transports all players on it to a virtual arena with the boss of their choice, where dying only ends the simulation. Thematically, this makes sense, too, as an archives should represent a collection of ancient knowledge. Learning your enemy is knowledge in itself.

Worst possible fate for the gateway, to be honest, not because the idea is bad, but because the gateway could be so many things. It conveys the idea of something grand. What was this side that used moon powers doing? Why do they also have some kind of portal? Where does it go? And so it's kind of like, uhhh, it was just an archive really... anyway...

Better than absolutely nothing, which is the current situation as well so...........

It would be cool but we can already make that on a solo server with commands, it would be kind of redundant.

I think Klei is saving that gateway for "something" to spawn there. My bet is that it will work similar to the portal in Moon Quay but more related to archive stuff, or Charlie will do some weird shenanigan to turn archives into "ruins 2.0" for her plans, **** like that

Doing things with commands is not justification for not supporting it in game. Especially if you wanted to practice as a team with others on a pub server.

 Not sure what Klei’s official stance on spoilers is at this point (does anybody even care?). I’ve never not known what bosses exist between RoG, SW, Hamlet, and DST. Regardless there’s ways around it. For one thing, we have scrapbooks and registries that track player discoveries across worlds.  
  
Though I can think of worse things than being spoiled about a boss, like going in blind on fuelweaver, miraculously solve how to actually summon him, then dying in the first 10 seconds.

The biggest spoiler is that in a game like this, where the interactions of creatures with each other are very important, there is an artificially stupid balancing act that makes one boss 10 times stronger than the other for no reason at all.

Are you still unhappy over stuff like Deerclops and Fuelweaver having a huge health difference? This isn't even on-topic :???:

Honestly, I like this idea, but it'd be kind of an underwhelming conclusion for the archives gateway. I'm hoping the gateway will get some use in the shadow rift finale. I know it's lunar but, it's also in the caves :P

Честно говоря, мне нравится эта идея, но такой финал для архивных врат был бы немного разочаровывающим. Я надеюсь, что врата пригодятся в финале «Теневого разлома». Я знаю, что это лунная тема, но врата находятся в пещерах :P

I'm not happy.  They'll not do something about the gate, because in the last trailer we even saw a dead Alter...

Who said the gate way only had to have one function?

could be a way to have it linked to the scrap book so If you observed it in some way, you could interact with it in this theoretical situation. It's a cool idea even if ultimately unlikely to occur at all.
