choppe Posted August 10, 2025 Share Posted August 10, 2025 I have an AMD Ryzen 5 7500F AM5 processor, but on a 1000 cycle I have 20 fps with drops to 8 fps. At the same time, I have played for 900 hours already and I can say with confidence why the fps is so bad (besides Unity)) 1. conveyor rails, they use their own principle of transferring objects (unlike gas and water pipes), and they also overload the game with calculating the paths of movement of materials. Every time a rail is built or destroyed, it starts calculating the paths for each line on ALL planetoids again. The photo below shows that their optimization leaves much to be desired, it feels like they are not deactivated when moving between planetoids. 2. these are jet suits, the calculation of the path of duplicates becomes unlimited and sheer hell begins for your PC. Unfortunately, on one save I made both conveyors and jet suits for 12 duplicates and my game turned into 10 fps at the first speed of the game). in general, what is all this for. if this forum is not just for people who communicate with each other, but developers read it, then please pay attention to this, it really spoils the game. I remember how you released the optimization of gas and water pipes, and it really worked, but the conveyor rails remained. try to simplify the mechanics of moving materials like gas pipes. We keep a collection of late game saves to use while working on performance and your save would be a good addition. Is there a place where we can formally submit some? (I don't have any at the time but that's for future reference.) (Also, you might consider this one if it's not already done. Sure, it's on a custom cluster but it's actually only 53200 tiles big, more than twice smaller than a Spaced Out classic style map, and it chugs.) Regarding conduit rebuilding performance (not just rails) it's on our list of performance improvements to make but not sure when we'll get to it. We don't have a place to submit saves for inclusion. I usually discover ones I want to include in bug reports that have something unique about them not covered in other saves. For example, we don't have a lot of late game saves from the two planet packs.
