They definitely need to be buffed. The main issues of walls are that they get destroyed too easily, and that if there's even one wall missing all mobs will just path find to it so unless you use gates there's no point of using them how there supposed to be used. So if they give them more hp, and let mobs not path find to the one wall gap 10 tiles away, they might finally serve a purpose besides dfly and decor.

No. The walls definitely need buffs like the previous commenters said, but in addition there also needs to be less cheese available where walls would normally be viable. 

An example being the pathfinding exploit with certain structures like fossils that leave mobs running in one place forever. Less cheese would give traditional usage of walls more of a purpose.

pretty much that idea, mostly to contain regular mobs that would rather not break their teeth or arms when trying to attack certain walls

maybe containing treeguards would be fun to have too, the lesser types of boss mobs

It would be like:

- Hay wall contains 100% Beefaloes and they can't destroy it, while other animals can destroy it but with effort, and others completely annihilate them

- Wood wall contains 100% Spiders and they can't destroy it, while Beefaloes and Spider Queen can destroy it but with effort, and others completely annihilate them

- Thulecite walls can contains 100% some initial bosses like treeguards, spider queens, vargs, Deerclops, Bearger, ecc....and they can't destroy it, but don't do well against normal enemies.

 

These are just only examples I made on the spot, for making the point clearer.

I feel like beefs would just eat hay wall xd
