Maxwell should have a skill tree and one of which should make him able to make small shadow vial that contains Maxwells spells for example servant vial or duelist vial or prison vial and sneak vial

wickerbottom:nice

Can't wait when people will unironically type "Maxwell needs buffs!! He's very weak!" just because he hasn't still received that disgusting thing called skill trees and enjoy the cluster-boing of a dumpester fire it will be, with people angrily arguing and the game being powercreep to no end.

The problem even arise when utility is proposed, like bruh guys. He is big in farming role (axe, pickaxe, shovel and picking up things), inventory role and nightmare fuel + beard hair role (monster meat is superficial with how easily abudunant it is and methods to farm it)

Like.....oof. In any way you spin it, the harsh reality is, Maxwell should not receive almost nothing new and just some veryyyy little tunes.

But unfortunately as I said in my previous comment, Klei will buff him as hell at most with artificial numbers and whatlike. The community will say "booooorinnggg" "he should --> summon meteorites" something something about changing again drastically the characters and the roof will be again broke. Can't wait for the sh1tshow.

He'll probably get it last, just like the rework because his skill tree might be tied to the story, and gameplay wise, he's probably the last character that needs a skill tree right now. (He feels like a character that already has a skill tree tbh. And this is coming from a Maxwell main.) But my guess is that his skill tree might be very powerful because...
1. As we've seen in the trailers, it seems like Charlie has a plan with him, so it'd make sense if he is gifted something powerful in the form of affinity perks.
2. Maxwell isn't seen by Klei as a character for beginners, so I don't think he'll has any (weak) skills that are oriented toward new players.
3. His entire persona revolves around being the former king, the antagonist of Don't Starve, someone powerful who uses dark magic and stuff, it wouldn't make sense for him to get skills like "Make shadow puppets dance to restore the sanity of nearby survivors." (Or drain them, I don't know. But judging from the quotes, it might be the latter.)
4. From Beyond literally lets you open a shadow rift, I'm sure Maxwell's gotta find a way to utilize pure horror somehow.
5. We still haven't seen an end game shadow-aligned boss equivalent to the Celestial Scion, I wonder what that has to do with Maxwell, story wise.

All others good points being brought up on the table, good one POOH_LY.

Him being tied to the character that he is, the story, him being one of the favourites of Klei (maybe even THE favourite), ecc....

I always believed he will be the last. It's not a coincidence that Maxwell rework was the last and Wilson Rework <- this has been shadowbanned from the shadows government Skill tree being the first.

Charlie should gift him a downside too like lung problems or something.

Maxwell is one of the strongest characters rn, he don't have the urgency to get skill tree.

His endgame got higher dps than Wolfgang, faster harvesting than Woodie, able to read Wicker's book.

His two downside is lacking of mobility perk like Winona/Wanda/Wortox/Woodie. And his low health which is not actually a big problem while you can spam cage with bone helmet riding on beefalo.

TBH I think Warley/Wx/Webber/Wickerbottom/Wanda need skill tree much more than Maxwell.
