I actually enjoy the idea of eviction of pearl in beta.....

Before you say anything, allow me to explain a bit first.

First , when i say "enjoy" i mean i like it in a story sense consider it completes her story arc as a whole, pearl most likely recently live on this remote island on sea just to find crab king

( for finding crab king ofcoz !)

(The Plugged Fissure and barren island is also a big clue that she move here very recently to this barely habitable island)

After the players unwillingly helped her, she decide to give us the pearl as travelers have bigger chances of finding ck, hoping ck will be convince to come back

Then during our lunar mission, we found ck and we gave him the pearl, after the fight, for any reason he is unable to come back to pearl and he cracked the pearl as his final message 

 

After we gave back the cracked pearl to pearl, she knows that the ck he once knew will never be able to come back to the very place where they have first met.

Thus the island itself lose its purpose.

Wagstaff then came and start trashing her island, giving her a reason to leave this place ( and memory ) behind.

Wagstaff as usual, barely cares about other people wellbeing decide to place pearl on moonquay island, and she ask us for one final help.

-To move her to a better place ( our base) or the swamp

Anyways, the island is a symbol of her hanging to a last hope that ck will come back to her, the destruction of pearl island is a way of showing her finally moving on and form other connections ( with the players )

(maybe im wrong, but atlease thats how i think)

Lore wise, I comepletely agree with the eviction idea.

But gameplay wise, I'm sad that we lost one of the best islands in the game.

So the change is fine, I guess.

I personally dont care about any lore justifications at least not as much as the negative impact this change has on gameplay.

Lore can be whatever you want it to be, its not real.
 

What is real is players having fun with pearl’s island as a one-of-a-kind landmark.
 

From just decorating it to using it as an actual homebase as someone who spends a lot of time on the ocean. etc etc. Pearls island makes many different gameplay options possible that all go down the drain when the island is made into the 100th barren boss arena that is only visited when u want to fight the boss. 
 

its just such a nonsensical decision to me when they could have sooooooo easily just picked a different spot for the arena.

Why dont they just move it to lunar arpeggios? No one is really using those and gives them actual use.

I like how your now able to relocate pearl to wherever you want. It definitely makes her a little more useful trading wise and people can use her house for things (decorating, unbreakable wall, etc). Tho I'm definitely gonna put her in the middle of dfly arena.

You're overthinking it and making up the lore with assumptions. Yes we know she is looking for CK hoping to find him through the bottle messages. No, that's not the reason why she lives on the island. The reason she lives there is because it suits her personality and concept. She is a Hermit Crab. Hermit means a person who lives in a remote location usually in isolation, and doesn't interact with other people frequently. That why she is grumpy and not friendly towards the players at first. 

No, island "doesn't lose its purpose" when she finds out about CK defeat. She made this place her home. She didn't ask us to find her a better place - she asked us to help her fix her existing place. Her home, her garden, her bees etc. If she was ready to literally "move on" she'd ask to be relocated after receiving the cracked pearl but she didn't. She only gets forcefully relocated (evicted) after Wagstaff shows up there. It's not her choice and if not for him, she would have stayed happily after in her shelter because it fits her hermit nature.

This shouldn't have been a thing solely because the sea is still considered bare and one new island would have helped toward easing up this 10 year old issue.

It's the spot where they first met. The bottles she sends out often ask the Crab King to come meet her at the spot where they first met, which would be a very weird thing for Pearl to request if it was some distinct other location where she wasn't actually going to be.

This ironically oversimplifies her character more as this just boils her down to why is she the way she is? Well because her species name says so.

She didn't ask us to find her a better place but that doesn't mean she wasn't weighed down by the island and needed an excuse to find motivation to finally leave it behind. Is it looking to deeply into it? However the alternative you're suggesting makes her seem more shallow of character acting that way purely for the sake of the name as she no longer has a reason to be a crabby hermit.

A question that needs to be asked is does Pearl truly desire to stay? Then if the answer is yes why?
