Masked mobs are spawned everywhere and cause troubles that cannot be handled efficiently. Masked spiders are easy to deal with, but masked bunnymen and rock lobsters are not. Killing the masked bunnymen causes revenge of wrathful rabbit king, while masked rock lobsters‘ endless reproduction creates chaos everywhere.

It's the consistent annoyance the angry rabbit king caused. Do you still gonna have fun after keep killing the mob that will respawn every 5 minutes after death? Also he has 2k HP.

Now I am a Willow main, and beard hair farming means mass beardlord killing, but I’ve been enjoying the guaranteed rabbit king cudgel drops compared to the more inconsistent living logs for dark swords.

Void Masque is OK. At least it's less boring than Icker. And wasn't Masked lobsters reproduction issue solved? Masked lobsters have not caused any problems in my 1000+ day world.

Wrathful Rabbit King, that's the worst. He's just jerk to trick beginners, there's STILL no way to decrease rabbit naughtiness, white rabbit will fall at underground, the drops are scam, it's just not fun at all.
At least if there was a way to escape him and Rabbit King Cudgel could use as Burrowing Horn by cost a lot of durability, I can put up with him.

I tried playtesting it, but it didn't seem to so...? It might be some kind of mod issue though.

Ah, yeah, I think I see the issue.

self.OnPlayerKilledOther = function(player, data)
    local victim = data and data.victim or nil
    if victim == nil then
        return
    end

    if victim:HasAnyTag("rabbit", "manrabbit") and not victim:HasTag("shadowthrall_parasite_hosted") then
        local naughtiness = FunctionOrValue(NAUGHTY_VALUE[victim.prefab] or 1, player, data)
        self:AddNaughtinessFromPlayer(player, naughtiness)
    end
end

While the beta did add a check for the parasite hosted tag, as shown above, by the time it reaches this listener function, the tag has been removed. The process basically goes like this:

  • "death" event fires (before "killed" event, which is what rabbitkingmanager listens to from players).
  • The parasite mask has a death listener to unequip the mask.
  • Unequipping the mask removes the parasite hosted tag.
  • "killed" event eventually fires from combat component, and manages to go through the check and adds naughtiness anyway.

I'll make a report soon.

I was saying, nothing in the beta patch notes said and adressed about rabbit king.

Yes, but the code was changed, that parasite check shown above isn't there outside of the current beta. It was probably missed when making the patch notes given that there were a total of 365 files changed.

Point is, the intention was to address the issue but it's very slightly off the mark due to what I pointed out.

There's too much masked mobs and ickers honestly that they almost colonize the entire caves. I do like that the masked mobs drop pure horror though, but the ickers are an oversupply of nightmare fuel, while tatters and dreadstone so rare in the caves.

Good. Thanks for your work soldier to let us know. This 2025 is starting to be more and more beautifull. We'll see if they will touch in caves rift ending the rabbit king itself since he's been launched broken, undercut and not finished.
