Sorry but big chances this would be the opposite of fun to me :-? That would completely diminish what has to be done against this amazing move to repeatedly putting it on fire. I would prefer having all the options in the world over one dominating the others, especially if it makes an excuse for the boss do deal self damage, I seriously don't want that.

Also I'd like to add the game rules bend very easily on what can be burned and what can't. I always believed rocky things are meant to be fire immune given Rock Lobsters, but somewhy the Rockjaws, Crab King & such are flammable ? And this is just the other way around for metallic things, clockworks can be put on fire but not this boss... frankly I'd ask that they establish some rules better because this is just weird but I get that not many players would like it... tho I would.

not to mention there's a ton of things that should be burnable but aren't, like throwing traps and cutless into a campfire.

@ADMcurrently there already is only a single dominant method being thermal stones

which is problematic considering thermals mechanics mean they only work for 1 half of the in game year

Looking at the code, Thermal Stones was meant to be nerfed by dropping some of their durability temperature when hit by missiles, but that has been commented out, could be returned or items could be pushed much further away ? Still burning the boss and getting self damage from would be making it far too easy in my opinion.

It was temperature, not durability. Which is far more weird because you'd think a missile breaks the thing

@ADMI think you’re kinda missing the point of what I’m trying to say xd

as it currently stands thermal stones are the only strategy that works, anything else is unviable or character specific

if klei nerfed them this boss would be suck for anyone except Willow

I've got it once with two fire staves and a bunch of things laying around to get through it, worked well while not being the only viable and not character specific thing I could've got away with.

I quite enjoyed it doing it like that.

I think every creature/machine should be flammable (mostly with willow's fire) BUT most of them (them as a sea or machine creatures) would take none or less fire damage
(this would go well for willows dmg boost to burnning targets skill)

some other stuff I noticed:
the homing missiles also target Wilson's throwable torches.
and lowering your temperature to 0 or less does absolutely nothing (I would like this to change in the future).

also @Sikers congrats on your 100th post

It would be great. Currently fire damage (which is literally 1/3 of Willow's skill tree) is completely irrelevant against like half of the content and especially endgame

Me to. It could give uses to so many forgotten items like: chilled amulet, ice cube, ice bream, dishes that lowering the temperature or maybe even luxury fan
