Evicting pearl and destroying her island is such a bad idea i dont understand what they were thinking.

pearls island is one of the most unique features of an otherwise EXTREMELY monotonous overworld map… the only island of its kind in a huge ocean filled with a million sea stacks..

the only place for example where someone who loves ocean content and fishing can set up a fun lil island base. I dont think you need to be that person to understand how unique pearl’s island is as a location and map feature… its a map feature that enables unique gameplay options

destroying it to turn it into the 100th dumb barren boss arena is soooooooooooo confusing to me.

Those are more like, "Oh, no! The meteor biome got worse!" Pearl's quest actually involves building stuff on her island. You're encouraged to do so.

Exactly. Doing a 180 after all these years is again so freaking confusing and unnecessary.

and even worse dumping her in the middle of moon quay of all places looks so ramshackle and modded.. this decision both destroy pearls island and moon quay at the same time. Both map features suffers heavily from this change.

even the way her structures poof out of existence looks so modded and extremely “immersion breaking” or whatever u wanna call it.

its such a bafflingly bad decision i really cant put it any other way

If the story requires Pearl to be sent to Monkey Island then that's fine, but the battlefield should be on another new island. I'm sure it can be done if it could be done with Ice Sheet. The ocean is more desolate than the wilderness dude!

Or rather, could you please let us create a private island anywhere in the ocean as part of the rewards for this questline?

if i get it right Wagstaff needs this island because of stored lunar energy from blocked lunar fissures, so bye bye grandma, we building robots on your turf now

That's a great idea. I've always wanted to be able to make my own island without mods, and being able to move Pearl to it would be a lovely addition.

Like with Moonstorm, could made to siphon off that stored lunar energy in a non-destructive way and move it other a new battlefield.

I love destruction too, but only if it's the property of who I hate, and I don't like mine or my friend's property be destroyed.

It could even involve a noisy machine that makes Pearl want to move. Then you could have the option to move her back with no more spooky rifts, or somewhere on the mainland.

Wagstaff could have us build an artificial island in the middle of the ocean to test WARBOT.

I mean, wagstaff never states that at all. That's entirely player speculation. He just wants land. In fact, WE gather the lunar energy by collecting the gestalts.

I love reading all these player suggestions - they are so well thought out, just go through the forums and list all the possible alternative ways to handle the introduction of the final boss and placement for its arena, there are so many ideas to work with! Man, there are SO MANY possibilities for this questline to unfold, it could have been truly a gem of the game's final plot with different routes, actual player choices (choose to go along with world destruction or have your say in it and oppose the main villain of the Lunar questline), rivalry between stubborn crab lady and Wagstaff, while still having both Pearl's relocation option and the new boss arena...It would also show character growth of whatever character the player is playing, because they chose to do something different, for once, instead of blindly following questionable instructions from a hologram (which didn't lead to anything good in the past, mind you). Yet developers still went for the quickest and most abrupt way to end the story, just so they can fit it into their artificial two week deadline with rushed beta and barely any testing. What a shame, Klei.

You should probably go replay the game and read every character (except Wes) inspection quotes for the slowly erupting fissures.

#1- Dangerous Un-inhabitable Location temporarily made habitable by poorly plugging fissures.

#2- Several characters clearly state something sinister is going on and the sounds creep them out.

So, we were tasked with planting flowers, transplanting berry bushes, cleaning up trash and lureplants, placing chairs, and drying meat in a "Dangerous Uninhabitable Location."

Ah, the classic "If you don't like it don't interact with it" argument. Not a great reason.

So true. Irritates the hell out of me when this is brought up. Regardless of if I care or not. It has been and will always be a horrible argument for many things, especially video games.
