I like optimizing strange projects and I was taking a break while these were released. Had a few questions before I attempted.

 

Is the only means to obtain seeds from the Winch, and alternate means such as the birdcage with crop seeds do not exist?

 

Can Wickerbottom make these produce berries faster than usual?

You can only get them from surprising seeds via sunken chests, and there is no way to force grow them. Best bet will be to give the cracked pearl to Pearl to make every message bottle spawn a chest, and either rely on getting the passive bottle spawns in the ocean, farming CK, or creating a marrotter farm for bottles to get the seeds.

On a positive note, you will net a bunch of sproutrocks alongside a ton of the various loot the sunken chests give from this.

I thought Wicker could let you skip most of the sapling phase?

It’s true that she can do this via silviculture which will skip most of the initial setup time, though it won’t do much for the growth of the berries themselves, which is what the post seemed to ask about.

I was hoping Wickerbottom could help with both, but if she’s not helping on the berry end, then I could easily replace her.
