WHAT WILL THE C BUTTON DO IN DST

Klei will program it to do the cry animation, it's ok, Jamie Cheng doesn't pay overtime so when it hits 5 all the DST devs are like "yeah nawww no voice chat for you, lemme push that update to 2035 instead"

Seems like that chat function is outside of the specific games and runs alongside whatever game is being played. HOPEFULLY that means Switch 2 players can chat regardless of an actual update to the game.

Hate to burst you guys bubble but if DST IS Backwards compatible from the Switch to the Switch 2, it’s still the exact same game, with the exact same limitations of the Switch version.

Which means: Even if you did play DST on the Switch 2, it’ll still be playable with people on Switch 1.. because It’s the same game being treated as if it was on the same last Gen console with NO ADDITIONAL CHANGES OR CONTENT.

However: if your lucky… the processing speed of the switch 2 might improve your game loading speed (for things like the loading screens)

I say this as an Xbox player who used to play DST on Xbox One & upgraded to the Xbox Series S, DST loads so fast on the newer console that (and I’m not joking…) you can load into the game world roughly a full minute and 20 seconds before even the HOST of the game world (who is still on a last Gen Xbox One) can load into the game.

Unfortunately this “breaks” roll back attempts for last Gen players, because even if they DO attempt a Rollback, players on the faster console load back into the game a full minute 20 seconds before them, which means the game has already saved a new rollback restore point.

And even though the newer consoles are perfectly capable of the “more & lots more” or “larger” world size and generation settings the PC Version has- they aren’t available to us because at this point- Last Gen consoles are literally holding back Next Gen.
