Swiyss
EDIT: This post is satire, please be respectfull and share your ideas too. Hire like 10 modders to update the game but keep an eye on them. Make them work for free and only give them in-game limited edition item and 50 more so they can give them to other ppl. Then create a battle pass per update that increases gift and spool acquisition, with limited edition icons, limited edition drops etc.. Create a DLC and only allow player with the dlc to enter DLC-worlds. Sell the dlc for 10 bucks and you got enough to pay the modders that you used to create the dlc and updates. Separate the team into groups, each group will focus on one thing only, like a skill tree group, a enviroment/map group, a combat/boss group etc.. Release updates 1 group at a time, making the other group have +6 months to work on their update. Allow 2+ players access to a klei dedicated server and charge them for it. Allow us to impulse the amount of event chests that we get even further with the battle pass. Bring back forge and gorge as a DLC, and charge 9.99 for each and 14.99 for both. and 29.99 for both plus all future dlcs, but make it limited and promise us atleast 3 future dlcs. It's certainly not ethical. 7 minutes ago, astareus said: only give them in-game limited edition item and 50 more so they can give them to other ppl. You're suggesting having modders give out the codes instead of streamers? I don't see how that's better. 7 minutes ago, astareus said: Then create a battle pass per update that increases gift and spool acquisition, with limited edition icons, limited edition drops etc.. Dear God, no. Why in the world would you want them to implement parasitic monetization? 8 minutes ago, astareus said: Create a DLC and only allow player with the dlc to enter DLC-worlds. Sell the dlc for 10 bucks and you got enough to pay the modders that you used to create the dlc and updates. This goes against the philosophy Klei has demonstrated with this game where you're encouraged to bring your friends with you to the game (which is why buying it gets you a free copy to give to a friend). Paid DLC is one thing, although I don't think Klei has any intention of doing it, but if they did, only the host should need it. 10 minutes ago, astareus said: Separate the team into groups, each group will focus on one thing only, like a skill tree group, a enviroment/map group, a combat/boss group etc.. They already did this with the skill trees in the most recent update. Different devs worked on each one. In order to do what you're suggesting, they'd need more employees. Hiring modders is a good idea (it's certainly worked out for Valve), but you have to pay them just like your other employees. 11 minutes ago, astareus said: Release updates 1 group at a time, making the other group have +6 months to work on their update. ...if you're slowing down the update release schedule, what's the point of organizing things such that updates could be made more quickly? 11 minutes ago, astareus said: Allow us to impulse the amount of event chests that we get even further with the battle pass. If I'm understanding this correctly, you're suggesting a paid feature that increases random item drops. Again, why advocate for parasitic monetization? This isn't a free-to-play game and the system we have already works well enough, both for Klei and for players. 12 minutes ago, astareus said: Bring back forge and gorge as a DLC, and charge 9.99 for each and 14.99 for both. and 29.99 for both plus all future dlcs, but make it limited and promise us atleast 3 future dlcs. Bringing these back as DLC isn't the worst idea ever, although I don't know how that'd affect the existing mods to bring them back. I would honestly not be opposed to Forge and Gorge DLCs. The same price as the full game for both is a big ask, though, given that they don't have nearly as much content even combined. I think that he means as in Team A releases the skill tree update, Team B goes for rift stuff, Team C goes for QoL, so after Team A releases their update, they can start working on the next skill trees, while team B and C are releasing theirs, gaining extra time, basically a pipeline. Being very frank, while some of those methods are used for money making everywere, they worsen the trust on the company and are not sustainable for the game life. And as a programmer, the last thing that you want is a bunch of different people working on "products" for the same code, believe me, even on a small team the spaghetti makes itself. Said that, I think that this guy is malding because the Wendy skill tree. DegenerateFurry
Oh, it's satire? I couldn't tell because there are actually some people who advocate for corporate practices like these every once in a while. In the spirit of satire: Klei should make each character aside from Wilson a monthly subscription. You want to play someone else? That'll be $1.99 per additional character per month, please. Like switching between all 19 (Wonkey is its own subscription) of them and keeping your options open? Get the all characters annual subscription for $283.99, that's a 33% discount! Then season system that buffs one character to op and nerfs all others per season, add Easy Anti-Cheat. Then make a live-action series with Netflix, after perfect season one, renewed for nine more seasons but fired the season one writers and found ten DEI as new writers. Then develop the IP spin-off games, all reskin versions of other types of games, each with dozens of skin DLC.
