Wendy skin problem - So I guess if I'm not gonna say this then nobody will

Dear Klei dev

Her hair in the new skin icon is outside the frame, and this has been like this since the update, it's almost a week now

I dont really have much time to play so after checking the update, I'm too lazy to bother, thinking it should been fixed by now

and well... It's not the end of the world but c'mon, this is one of the most popular character, can you guy plz give more care 

 

 

Ok, here come the main point

Last time, I did manage to convint you guy to fix the god auful bangs of Wendy Verdant skin so I HOPE for the same for at least a few of this

 

 

so okay, I can see what you guy try to going for, like the Nostalgic skin hair physics 

but um... this does not fit

PLZ FIX HER BANG

I'm a bit lazy but I think you know... fix her bang in the side view as well

 

This skin problem is a bit hard to describe, you can see this clear in game

You need to make the side view lower hair part bigger

in the game it's too small, making you can see and few the upper and lower part of her hair not connected/attached

in this animation, you could see the gap, HOW DOES THIS PASS THOUGH INSPECTION

But I don't like your Merrymaker edit. It makes it look less like a girl wearing a headband and more like a boy who has a headband sitting way up high on top of his head.

surprise, surprise, some people just have small foreheads that they literally gotta put their head scarves much higher than usual (yes my mom been nagging bout this very thing countless times)

they probably meant since some boy characters have this hairstyle (this is just one of many) so le bias comes in

While we're at it, they should make a separate head sprite when she's facing our right. It's kinda irritating that her flower appears on both sides of her head. Flipping sprites only works when the character is symmetrical, not when parts of them contain asymmetry.

Unfortunately, doing this would require duplicating and adjusting every single side-facing animation in the entire game. There's no concept of "left" or "right" in 99% of animations in DST, there's just a "side" animation that faces to the right, and is flipped horizontally in-game if you're facing to the left.

The original skin has the headband holding her hair back, like a headband does. The edit instead just looks like it's resting on top of her head, rather than being used like a headband. I have no clue what the random comment about gender was for, and it muddies the entire point being made by being so confusing that it's impossible to even understand what the rest of the comment is about.

I was being nice, finding a solution that allow Klei to do the bare minimum effort to fix the skin, by adding a bang instead of redraw the whole head bang like this

 

By the way, if you guy still not see the problem then here
Let find her Hairline, then compare it to the original skin vs my edit

 I shouldn't have to explain this but you can pull your hair up but you CAN NOT pull the hair line up unless you make your character bald

almost all of Wendy skin (and her base head) follow this hair line except  "Merry makers" (which I mention above), "Masquerader" and "Magmatic"

At least thank to the huge glasses, the "big forehead" and "hair line" problem is less noticeable

while Magmatic is just mad ugly and old that I don't bother to complain

yeah, again, I agree with you. I have a small forehead - not to mention with curly hair - so most of the time I gotta wear a headband at the hairline to prevent the hair from falling over my eyes. yet my mom kept saying to bring the headband up so that some of my hair part exposed.
