The idea is a new building area in space with low gravity for research and refined materials. Having a modular space station map that needs to be built in segments. 

Pushing the option of  more rocket use for diverse game progression. 

Pre-built shaped blueprints that need to be launched and attached with rockets.

This could be a required area for advanced science machines and mid-end game refinement or research in "zero/low gravity" environment. 

(Viscogel etc)

 

Additionally,

Allow for unique growing conditions for plant mutations and consistent radiation from space environment.

Instead of digging out more space, your building it out with station segments.

Did anyone ever make the fountain statue? Or was it a waterfall display.

Unfortunately I've had issues with decore mods more then anything? Loved the statues mods.

Wish there was just a small handful more decorative items. Snowman statues. Modular stone pillar segments. Fountain. Wood totems. wall lights, hanginglights. Few things to fill in the empty space or have themes. Something for the content creators.

thats an issue of the past when klei rewrote artable every update.

Nice, glad a lot of the old ideas are making it in.

Need new ideas now, maybe a disco ball or the colored version. Balloon bundles, have the art already. Glowing stars   wallpaper. Hide geodes in buried object tiles for display. Ivey decore plant.

Any mentions of a complete sandbox mode? Dying to create a custom map, even with 7 mods it's not quite possible. 

Still wanting to create a tutorial map as well.

Actually like the space texture.  But the solid black drywall has a nice look.

I'm going to break my full achievement run downloading decore mods again. 

Out of reasonable ideas...Large Cake/food with decore, recreation build that can be consumed.

Tier 3 food skill, grand feast. Idk.

It might be easier just to make the space debris points of interest locations that can be visited.
That could still be really cool, and it would make those locations on the space map more valuable.
Would have to figure out how docking would work mechanically though.

That with the ability to build onto them once reclaimed.

It's a research station in space for research and fabrication of space materials and sterile atmosphere gmo testing.

Keep sending up prefabricated modules that overlap at the doors, maybe a blueprint creator that adds the tile weights together for the rocket module capacity. 

 

Could build from multiple materials creating interesting custom room layouts that are limited by weight factors. 

Creating a space garden sounds fun.

Maybe an airlock system for jet pack use when building outside the station.

I really like this one. I can already think of the generation condition: if an outer planet is not in automation broadcast range of the starting planetoid, spawn a ruined space thing approximately in the middle, trying to have as many planetoids possible in range, with the starting planetoid being mandatory.

You'd still have to bounce your signal using it, but at least it would be just one bounce, not multiple like sometimes spacemap generation forces you to do.

So is this just a challenge or a mod someone is making? I feel like I should make my thoughts a separate thread.

I've noticed that Klei's current update direction is focused on satisfying the vanilla game, and there won't be dedicated updates or DLCs specifically for "DLC - Space Out".

The Chinese Tiangong space station has cultivated many mutated varieties of vegetables and fruits, and we can buy them in food markets at very low prices.

Any opinions welcome, I enjoy hearing them.

Was just a game addition I thought would fit really well. 

Its pretty much both 
- an idea collection for potential vanilla updates

- I'm making a mod that adds them, so I look at (alternative) design ideas for it for potential improvements 

Robo rockets became vanilla 3 years after I made that mod, so maybe we end up with both again in the long run
