Bionic Duplicant take over the world

Hello everyone,

Apparently ONI doesn't like to give me ‘normal’ dupes any more after a certain number of dupes. I only get Bionic Dupes suggested. Even if I cheat by reloading, it can take a very long time for a dupe to appear again. Is this intentional or a bug?

Brief explanation: I always play in such a way that I have to pick up a new dupe every 3 days until either the necessary resources aka water, coal or food are used up or my CPU lights up bright red.

it does, in fact, not check it by name, it uses personality id (aka the unique identifier of each personality)

this is the check that determines if the printing pod (or starting screen) should try rerolling the personality, with some comments added:

the check runs up to 20 times, then it gives up and just rolls with whatever it selected:

I got multiple only bionics selections before cycle 100, including duplicates of my own bionics, which are only two.

Printing pod is acting weird. I use DSS, but never change personality or stress reactions. Dunno if It can interfere with its "normal" operation.

as seen in my first screenshot, the "same personality"- exclusion check does not apply to bionic duplicants ("this.stats.personality.model != GameTags.Minions.Models.Bionic").

This makes it increasingly more likely to generate a bionic dupe in the printing pod slot (as that is seen as "valid") the more normal personalities you have in your colony

by default, DSS doesn't interfere with the initial dupe generation itself, its designed to keep vanilla generation rules with editing to be done by the user
