Just a small patch, mainly to fix some of the crash issues before the long weekend =)

Changes

  • Woby’s pack is now locked to her owner by default, except when sent to deliver items to other players.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed crash for some players when Wolfgang auto-lifts with Gym Mastery.
  • Fixed crash when joining a world where another Walter is currently using Pure Horror Rounds.
  • Fixed crash when attacking something that has both Cursed Vexation and Flash of Brilliance debuffs.
  • Fixed crash when calling Woby back from delivery in the middle of her fading.
  • Fixed interaction with Beefalo and “Shield” Elixirs.
  • Fixed Woby Snacks not being considered Monster Meat food.
  • Fixed Woby, W.O.B.O.T and W.I.N.bot trying to pick up items they collide with, like small creatures.
  • Fixed bug where Umbralla did not protect things on Woby’s drying rack from getting wet.
  • Items on Woby’s drying rack will now drop when despawning via Celestial Portal.
  • Fixed bug with Ancient Fuelweaver being unable to deactivate the Ancient Gateway (aka despawn) while he is being attacked by players from outside the Atrium.
  • Fixed ashes disappearing visual issue.

Hell yeah, thanks for that change, In the server I play we use ownership mod so I already know how good of a change this is, having this in Vanilla is pretty nice and her inventory being available only when delivering stuff seems way better

no wortox?

What is so bad about the wortox skill tree? I get that some skills can be seen as lackluster for some, but I personally really like it. Would you mind explaining why some people are so hellbent on it being changed?

maybe its because the tree still has some issues (mainly w filler skills), and havent received an update for so long that players are worried that their suggestions were ignored

Would you mind being a little more specific? To say that there are “bad skills” is quite vague and does not help a game developer with creating better solutions.

there are alot of threads of these things allready

knapsack is bad as a weapon with needing alot of soul jars with souls filled just to do DARKSWORD damage

decoy 2 does litteraly nothing

soul damage to realy do much with it you have to do capture lots of bees and the likes, and it realy not the worth it

nice and naughty idle animations were NEVER mentioned in the update notes but random update dit add those

  • sack needing a full inventory to do spear damage and a whole other extra skill (covetous) to get to the dark sword damage and 3 jars to break the hundred souls needed.
  • covetous collector influencing the damage of a total of 12 skills (including itself).
  • soul decoy 2 literally doing nothing.
  • cloudy carmine not only being underwhelming but also not working in multiplayer for other people.

tbh I enjoy most of the skill tree, but for me these are the main culprits

If I might add more detail, Wortox tree has the smallest amount of cool new features since Wolfgang's tree. It's got 3 different ways of giving the player AoE and soul jars and that's pretty much the extent of the interesting stuff.

To compare to another character that was already pretty good and didn't need a super in depth tree, Wigfrid has her spear, a knockback resistance helmet, a shield, a container for her calls, and some beefalo perks. It's a little bit of an exaggeration, but Wortox has very little going on. The worst part for me is that soul jars completely trivialize resource management for Wortox, meaning while Wortox is much more potent, he's arguably less interesting in some ways.

Wortox tree feels like it was designed by someone playing a game of telephone with a Wortox main. It fixes all of Wortox's big problems, but does nothing to expand on him as a character. It's unfortunate since souls conceptually have so much potential for cool stuff. Taking the bare minimum is something I'd expect of Wolfgang or Wilson, not Wortox.

I really like Twintailed Hearts, but I can understand why solo players wouldn’t like the multiplayer perks. I’m not a Wortox main though, so I really only play him with friends and anything that helps them out really speaks to me.

Yes its good but again it fits the mold of a skill that is the bare minimum. You invest 3 points in a way to teleport friends. It's just a lot of points for not a lot of cool stuff

Can't you also split them apart for the souls back?

It would be nice if the first soul jar skill let you reach tentacle spike damage, and covetous collector let you get the last 2/3rds of the damage bonus.
At the very least if I understand what klei has said they are giving it bug net privileges which would give it some expanded role, given its high durability, so long as the cost per catch isn't insane that at least is something.

I'm so glad that I saw other people who also care about Wortex).
I hope that the developers will review its skill tree, because as others have written, this skill tree adds almost nothing new to the Wortex, but simply strengthens the old one.
As for me, the skill tree should make the character NOT STRONGER, but MORE INTERESTING.
