Totopon_XD
For some reason, the skill doesn't count toward Woby's skill path, even though it is clearly a Woby-related skill. It just makes sense for it to count. At first glance, it does seem like a nice suggestion, but it's not something that Woby does; it's just an extension of her backpack, so I don't think it should count. On the other hand, the 'Woby here, Woby there' skill is something Woby actively does, so it makes more sense for it to count in Woby's skill path. Walrusst
you know how wortox has skills that qualify from a mix of naughty and neutral? What if the skill requirement for woby here woby there was higher, but it acted like that where it took a mix of utility and woby skills and counted for both. Dyzrespect
The tree right now is very tight, I think at least they should make the prerequisite 2 scouting skills instead of 3 for Woby Here, Woby There, as right now the only place you can take points out of is the slingshot customization tree if you want to take all of the capstone traits in each section. You need 3 points minimum for Ammo Efficiency 4 points minimum for Woby Here, Woby There 5 points minimum for Affinity Dash That leaves 3 points for customizer, so you have to neglect one. Your suggestion would bring Affinity Dash requirement down to 4 since it would take advantage of Woby Here, Woby There point, and would solve the tree (which could be a good thing or a bad thing idk), but again I think the big issue is forcing 3 scouting skills you likely won't need at end game for WH,WT kinda sucks. Chewabacca
I think that's kind of the point, though. You can't have it all. Walrusst
You making sacrifices makes it so there is a bit of play with walters skills. If I go woby here/woby there, I don't want to ride woby I want to stack skills that work when off woby and use a beef. (Mind you, having a utility woby still is nice for keeping an ornery beef, as for short rides you can use woby instead of feeding the bull. Its just that for long trips, or fights your bull is your main mount as you can save ammo using the horns when there aren't enough enemies to justify using ammo.) Since well, there is one awkward thing about woby here woby there, and thats that while you are waiting for woby to come back you are stuck on your feet. If I want fast woby I'll specialize in maximizing the hunger efficiency, skimp bit on wobies utility for more on myself (Horns and retriever don't do much when I'm riding her, but butterfly bandages top off my sanity when I'm wearing a marble suit,) and have a fast woby with no beefs. This post was made with the intention of offering a different solution to the skill cap that 'woby here, woby there' requires. If the skill cap is lowered, then I don't think the change I suggested would be necessary. As someone said, you 'can't have it all'. As for the scouting skills, I think all of them have their utility in the early game, mid-game, and endgame. It just depends on how you play. But since I've never really reached the endgame with a sustainable base, I can't really say how true my statement is. Now, if the skill tree releases in the state it is, it would be fine. Walter's skill tree is considered by me, at least, one of the best skill trees in the game. It has everything a skill tree should have, and it makes you think about the skills you want and how you want to play the character, which is what all skill trees should aim for. 19 hours ago, Walrusst said: you know how wortox has skills that qualify from a mix of naughty and neutral? My poor English skills struggled trying to understand this, but what you're suggesting is basically that the 'Woby here, Woby there' skill cap lock uses both Woby skills and camping skills to unlock? If that is the case, then I don't know how good or bad of a change it would be, but it is an interesting idea. On paper, I don't disagree with your philosophy, but if we are realistic and look into the future a bit, we see the rather droll reality of just needing to constantly swap around your insight points using the celestial altar late game. Why is that? Because you *have* to take Woby Drying Rack for WH,WT even though you have 40 drying racks set up at your base (just one example). Just kind of lame. Admittedly I'm not a fan of the whole skill tree system as a result of things like this, as it happens on a lot of characters, but I think the Affinities are the only really satisfying "can't have it all" mechanic, as you usually in fact can have it all so long as you go through the monotony of changing your skill tree whenever you need to do X or Y. I'd say maybe the one standout is Willow where you can't both have an upgraded Bernie and the maxed out spell. Now if like you suggest Woby Here, Woby There counted towards the woby skills that would also be an acceptable/satisfying fix, as you could just sacrifice a Woby utility in order to "have it all", without having to feel the need to constantly respec on the day to day. You do not need to take the Woby drying rack skill for the Woby Here, Woby There skill when the campfire, rope, and field medic skills are all very useful. I do not see how this will inevitably lead to spamming the Celestial Altar to get access to the ammo smith skill. Anis5240
I still wish the skill was renamed to Postal Pup like @Radicaljoe suggested. It's cute and does the job title well.
