Last change ideas for the Walter Skill Tree

The new Walter Skill tree has brought new light to our boy and I am so happy with the way it is going. I was actually really surprised by how much was made possible from all the comment sections so I tried to condense the most up voted ideas and give a final idea on my own to possibly replace the 2 least picked skills in Walter's current basekit (the rope crafting and the skill for Woby to forage berry's and the such an additional time

Hungry Guardian: (Replaces the Scavenging)

Woby tries her best to protect her little friend, though her cowardly attitude makes this a taxing endeavor on her stomach.
Has MASSIVE upgrade to Hunger to 500
Woby will now protect Walter to the best of her ability, taking the damage to her hunger instead, Woby bucks you off at 0 Hunger and transforms into small Woby. Woby still transforms into Big Woby at 50 Hunger

Collar Badges: (Replaces Rope Crafting)

Woby may not be Walter's dog, but that does not mean that she does not deserve a trinket for all her good work!
Walter can craft Collars for Woby to increase damage reduction while riding her, from 20% from a basic Saddle to 80% and 25 Planar Defense for a Endgame Saddle
Higher Level Collars give Woby 1/2/3 special slots to hold a Lantern, hold a additional side pack for more Inventory Slots, give the slots a cooler for an Ice Box Upgrade, let her swim in the ocean, let her carry a mobile cooking station and even carry an additional person. All these upgrades need to be crafted alongside the collars to give him more progression options
The mobile cooking station and lantern need fuel to work and can be refuled with twigs and grass.
If Walter has the Hungry Guardian Upgrade the damage reduction from the Collars is applied to Big Woby instead

These upgrades would close the gap between normal beefalos and Woby even more, even if it would be taxing in Woby treats and the health pool would never nearly reach that of a beefalo. It was important to many, and myself, to preserve Wobys cowardly attitude, which is why she should probably never get a attack herself, as she is not meant to be a tank in Meely. The collar upgrades make her a lot more versatile and are based on the mobile base camp idea, giving Walter new ways to outfit Woby to his needs, including the most listed requests like making Woby able to swim, recieve more Inventory Slots and carry an additional passenger

You could even make the Mobile Cooking Station require the Drying Rack Upgrade and make the Woby Lantern require the Mobile Fireplace Upgrade!

I think we're good as is, chief. If Woby can tank, she'd have to become much worse as a mount in other areas. And we already have ways of carrying light while moving. Also rope crafting and scavenging are very useful perks that fit perfectly with Walter as a nomad explorer.

I suppose you are right with the tanking. Was way overenthusiastic with 500 hunger aswell, should probably have been 200 or 150. The possibility to carry light while moving is obviously always there, but it was meant as a quality of life upgrade and I think it really fits with the scout archetype. Rope crafting is very flavorful, I just fear nobody will pick it and with all the cool ideas people have gathered the slot could have been filled with something more active and impactful

While I'd probably never pick rope crafting it actually combos really well with winter start Walter alongside the portable campfire since it teaches you the recipe same applies for scienceless runs as well.

Outside of that it's actually a better perk than I initially gave it credit for to the average player as anyone who sticks with spears, log suits, or football helms will end up saving a fair amount of grass over time.

You replaced the one of the strongest and best skills in his skilltree with more combat i dont believe you should do that.

Yea, I personally don't pick it either.

But making it rope is such a good choice by klei. Unlike boards, like Woodie's skill, which are often obtained by destroying pig houses rather than crafting. Rope is mostly crafted. As well as used on the go. Boards usually make structures, which you don't craft much of. Usually one or two. While rope makes armor, which is usually mass produced.

It also saves in crafting the portable tent and makes crafting normal drying racks cost 1 less rope's worth of grass which makes it a good alternative to getting let's rack and roll for those who don't want it really surprisingly versatile.
