Swap Lunar and Shadow Vex

Recommended Posts

Shadow Vex with elixir now currently causes enemies to take extra damage when using the elixir

Meanwhile, Lunar Vex doesn't do anything special.

From the way they are presented to the player, Lunar seems to be targeted towards the single target DPS instead of AoE. Since her Vex is not being spread amongs multiple targets, but concentrated in a single enemy, it wouldn't be out of the question to make this vex stronger after giving up the AoE aspect:

Suggestions for Lunar Vex: Make it so enemies take extra damage per hit line Shadow currently does, and gives extra sanity (lunacy) per hit, to make it synergize with the Enlightened Crown. It was always strange that the moon dps hat synergizes the best with the shadow affinity.

Suggestions for Shadow Abigail: Make the requirements to activate it be the elixir instead of murdering creatures.

-Murdering something in your inventory or in the overworld near abigail gives a temporary shield to Abigail, similar to the now removed hook buff from the sisturn. This would incentivize murdering creatures in your inventory for quick health, and make it strong against crowds, while not necessarily strenghten her against bosses, unless you carry a large amount of critters in your inventory for packed health. An interesting thing you can do with her Vex is make it live leech. Shadow Maul and BatBat are both shadow weapons, and they both do that exact thing, so a small amount of health gained on hit makes it similar to the Abigail on-murder health shield buff. Or you can make this health a "ghostly health", aka, a shield buff similar to the one given to Abigail.

Though I don't want to give up my current Cursed Vex to Lunar line, but your life stealing idea is pretty nice. Yes it's an feature of Shadow things. I love to make more details serve for lore even by sacrificing my character's power.

I find it a fun idea to explore what happens when shadow magic or lunar magic interacts with ghost magic, since the game has been explicitely separating them. That's where the overshield buff for players comes from, and if not, just regular lifesteal.

The Lunar thing is because, Lunar seems more geared towards multihit weapons: the bridghshade staff, Willow's Lunar flames, enlightened crown, and Walter's "get extra planar damage on hit" rounds are pure brilliance ones, from the lunar side.
