Mike23Ua
47 minutes ago, Echsrick said: what would be "fun" for you then? That’s simple: In the very same way players can toggle to take less damage or more damage- Pick Wolfgang to finish all fights in no joke literally half the time, or pick Wendy to AFK a horde of Hounds or Frog Rains- Players want to dare I say this… actually be able to “Enjoy” the bosses? There are several things could do to make solo’ing bosses more viable, such as removing, limiting… or changing certain features. For example: Stun-Locking hordes, these are Instant Death no matter how much armor you have on, Klei made changes to some of the mobs (like deer and Tallbirds) so you can’t just Stunlock them to death anymore (thanks for that Wanda *sarcasm btw*) but you the player- Can still be stun locked into oblivion. Playing with a GROUP of players you rarely notice this, because the enemies/bosses aren’t singling their attention onto one target, and when they aren’t targeting you, that gives you time to heal, eat, whatever it is you need to do inbetween swinging a weapon at the bosses face. If you get stuck in stun-lock while playing coop there’s also a chance the other players can save you by killing the distracted mobs before you die or whatever. But NONE of that translates to a fun single player experience, and while DST May had been Designed to play “Together” there are still modes and options for “Alone” unfortunately though: it doesn’t adjust the game and balance it around being fun or even REMOTELY “Fair” Alone. A lot of veterans just cry “git Gud noob” but is that really a healthy mindset for the game? Theres a REASON games like state of decay 2 have the Green Zone to Nightmare difficulty settings, it’s so players can choose how difficult/stressful the game will be for them. And I just don’t think using 80 gunpowder to self-scale a coop bosses health down or being forced into picking Wolfgang is any fun… Klei can and should make changes.. especially when it comes to Ocean Content, getting swarmed by a huge horde of water spiders intended to be fought off in a group.. isn’t exactly my idea of fun. Just wanted to correct you there. The Shipwrecked mod (Island Adventures) does actually have a functional Seaworthy to travel between the SW and DST worlds. You just need a dedicated server in order to run all 4 worlds (Forest+Caves, SW+Volcano) at the same time. We try to make the singleplayer DLCs as multiplayer friendly as possible since they weren't designed with multiplayer balancing in mind.
