Bionic can't wall toilet [solved] they can

I'm a bit disappointed that my bionic dupes can't use the wall toilet.

 

Am I the only one?

[edit] even more so becaues the gunk extractor is a 3x3 building

They do use it 

Are there specific conditions where they don't use it? They definitely have a gunk threshold they need to pass in order to use a bathroom, like dupes have a bladder threshold.

My dupe was in space (in a rocket), and spilled the gunk, fountain style, while ignoring the wall toilet. I just assumed it couldn't use it, maybe I made a mistake somewhere. Thanks for the working example.

Was the toilet marked as Controlled/Grounded, even though the vehicle was in space? I have frequently had that functionality bug out, to the point where I have to manually check it after a launch.
