Sturm58
I have this setup, where liquid resin is dropped into a steam/volcano room to heat up to 125 but something is not right. Can someone tell me what is happening here? The liquid resin disappears! Zarquan
This looks like flaking. Basically, 5 kg of the resin boils away instantly despite not being the right temp to mimic the surface layer of the liquid boiling IRL. It is often seen in oil biomes. Flaking only happens if it isn't too close to the boiling point, so you adding the cooler resin pushed it below the threshold, causing 5 kgs to boil away in to steam. This also takes heat from the steam, so it will have serious trouble getting up to temperature. The problem is that flaking often loses solid byproducts, so you probably should put in a temp shift plate to heat up the resin to boil the resin immediately upon entering the room. https://oxygennotincluded.wiki.gg/wiki/Flaking Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/162721-where-does-my-resin-go/#findComment-1781582 Share on other sites
Jorge Junior
First time I've seen a concentrated resin system I think if I did this I would use a 2x2 area and use the liquid sensor, hydro sensor and "AND gate". That way the emulator wouldn't go crazy. Remember to use aluminum tile.
