You didn't understand what he meant. He meant that after removing the wreath, the effect on the player removes too, but the potion should be stored in the wreath, and putting it back on will take effect again, rather than detect "tag" simply remove effect after removing the wreath.

the wraith wreath would be entirely redundant if you don't need to wear it to have the effect I did not read the op correctly and I apologize and agree with the statement. It would be nice to pop the hat off and put it back on when i need night vision or whatever effect I need at the time. On that note I would like it if the night vision worked like others and just turned off during the day.

I imagine the way it works is the player gets the potion tag, not the hat, likely as its easier to apply effects.

So when you take it off, the player loses the tag to prevent you from having the potion without the hat. 

It shouldnt be hard to fix though, just hope they do.

I think it would be possible to bind potions with wreaths, similar to the Milk Hat. The effects of the potion would only start to diminish when the player puts it on, and would pause when it is taken off.

It honestly would be better to just remove the item and make it possible to just use potions on yourself as wendy.
It removes the whole teamwork aspect of the item but like. The fact it loses its ability and its also competing for headgear While containing mostly mediocre upgrades.
