Hahaha. Again, not even on a beefalo, which would make her kill them even faster (and more doable now vs bearger than it used to be due to nightmare saddle giving you armor + planar + a chance to remount)

It should be noted that this does not mean Abigail needs to create or bear more damage. It does not mean that we hope to reduce the difficulty of the battle. he's not greatest, he made multiple mistakes and got punished for them

 

if you are a common player, you should get punished for your mistakes, have the game BE HARDER than someone who is more skilled, because that's just how this works. That's how games work, that's how everything, every single thing even in your LIFE works.

For the people who dislike the Pipspook quests or the way Pipspook help you to find lost items either you did not play the original Dont starve game, or you did… but you never played the Maxwells Adventure campaign of that single player game.

Pipspook work identically to using a Divining Rod in the single player game, this was actually one of my favorite parts of Solo DS so I enjoy having it as both a throwback nod to the original game AND as being incorporated into the playstyle of my favorite character.

Im sorry for the folks who find it tedious, boring or unfun.. the only bit of helpful advice I have to give to you is if you find Pipspook quests unfun & have never played the first Dont Starve game, don’t bother ever buying it, you won’t like it.

perhaps you can use your skill tree to relocate Pipspook closer to you and increase their production yields so the quest is less tedious to you? Just a suggestion.

Not a he but yeah! i decided to record the mildly successful attempts and went against practicing for hours, getting all 3 of these videos took me like 40 minutes total? and there were a lot of successful attempts in there, the objective of these videos is to show that you don’t have to be a perfect player/speedrunner and that doing this is not “unrealistic” i commit a lot of mistakes and im not using what is best for her and yet i am successful, i just want people to actually give Wendy a try and see how powerful she can be with just a bit of effort.

That is not what happens at all.  You have to wait xx minutes for specifically full power Abigail.  You can even resummon a weak Abigail immediately if you want.  You can also just finish the battle against lunar bearger if that is what killed her like a normal character (either on a beefalo with no downside or doing 90% of a normal character's damage, which makes the fight take like 10 more seconds). You don't need to flee the battle and stand there in base waiting for full strength Abigail.

Wendy players are not sent to jail or removed from the server or something when Abigail happens to die because they messed up.  That is the impact of not effectively managing Abigail.  This is getting ridiculous.

Also complaining that something in the game taking time makes it a micro transaction game makes no sense.  Should we make crock pot food appear immediately?  Should we give players infinite resources so they don't have to spend time gathering them?  Half of the point of this game is based on things taking time.

I am so confused, Abigail can be resummoned over and over again endlessly in DST… the only thing you “wait” on is for her health and strength to go back up to full power, but other then that you can summon her as much as you want.

Unlike the single player game where if she died you actually had to wait 3-4 days before she would be available again.

Seriously, I agree - ghosts are way too slow now, especially after the ocean update, and because of this, There is Life Giving Amulet that can revive you in place.

The reason that microtransaction games do it is to pressure you into spending money, though, which is not the case here. Also, in those games, you are literally unable to do those tasks while waiting. Abigail's disappearance disables Wendy in no such way, it's just less convenient to do the same things.

To add onto the previously stated points. Time itself is not the punishment, but losing opportunities.

Die at shadow pieces at day X? You lose the opportunity of defeating them on day X.

Lose Abby due to poor management? You lose the opportunity of her amping up your damage.

I think she should be wilson with a little more offense against some bosses and in general play, and a little or even a lot less offense against other bosses. I think being outright bad in some situations is in play too.

Please look at the downside, not the opportunity. While waiting for the Shadow Pieces, players have a lot of other fun things to do. While waiting for until Abigail gets back to a decent health state, Wendy will be playing as Wes.

To add to this, Wendy literally got an elixir that completely removes this downside, and all it costs is 3 mourning glory and a forget me lot, if you heal you lvl 1 abby to 150 health and use the potion you got an instant full health lvl3 Abby, from literally a forget me lot, i dont know what people want anymore (ㅠ﹏ㅠ)

I didnt realised it healed based on percentage. Yeah that potion should be more than enoigh for people.

"Playing As Wes" is such a dumb argument. I didnt know Wes was wilson with 0.75x damage and no other weaknesses. Wendy still has her sanity drain modifier and a bunch of out of combat perks now.

Also, yes, its a drawback. Its Wesndys literal only dawback.  Wendys damage is probably the most earned in the game. And if people think "more damage perks are meaningless", so should "less damage drawbacks"

If Abigail could survive anythingnwith minimal wffort, Wendy would actually just be mini wolfgang instead of being a unoque character with the highest skill ceiling in the game (imo)

Personally, I just want Wendy to have more to do outside of combat, and to have some options that let Abigail be more helpful against bosses that have AoE attacks. I don't think she needs to be more or less powerful than she already is. I'd also like more variety with what elixirs can do (ideally in the form of entirely new elixirs, taking inspiration from mods). Abigail being able to help Wendy against nightmare creatures in some fashion would be nice too, even if it's specifically the ruins nightmares and not ordinary insanity monsters.
