Nerf gloomerang

Ranged combat with an Xbox controller for DST sucks.

and that is precisely why a lot of ranged things on Xbox are auto-matic.

Rather then having the player have to try to aim Walters shots it just auto targets the enemy etc (or it did back when I first tried playing as him..)

His skill tree may change that IDK yet cause I can’t play in betas but, it would be unwise to make Walter harder to play when he already has a low player pick rate.

Might be unpopular opinion, but imho they should nerf Animation cancels for weapons. Swapping headgear/armor for animation cancel doesnt seem fair against Walter, or well controller players in general. At very least I have no idea how can you comfortably do the gear swap on console for said cancel.

'doesnt seem fair for walter' HE can do it too, this is just a skill people learn for extra reward. its more risk because you're adding extra mental stack onto combat, you can mess up timing attacks and get worse dps, you can forget to dodge at the right time etc, its a good accidentally made mechanic that just adds more flavor onto dst combat. 

in fact, they should add it for console, rather than nerf it for everyone. that'd just genuinely be a **** you to people who want to put more effort into practicing it

I don't like animation cancel but this isnt pvp so console players arent competing with pc players

Saddest part is that i can only recall 3 ranged mobs and one of them is bugged allowing you to kill them riskless (but you dont see topics about fixing them)

Okay so couple things to note: Klei has gone on record stating several times that their pipeline dream for the dont starve franchise is to have cross platform compatibility.

They've also mentioned that technically the ability of doing so is already possible, they just can’t get Sony to green light it so they can move forward.

And most importantly even if DST isn’t a PvP game if Xbox and PC were ever able to play together PC would have an unfair advantage over Console (as it currently has with many ranged character abilities)

So yes they’ll either need to significantly improve console to catch up to Pc OR bring PC down to match console. 

It doesn’t matter if the game is PvP, PvE, or PvPvE 

these things have to still be considered.

I'm aware it still very much out dps's the slingshot if your closer it deals more hits faster if your further it deals higher damaging hits still faster than the slingshot and at medium range you hit a sweet spawn where your doing fairly high damage at the speed of a melee weapon.

even with faster bosses it still works more or less fine.

it's still gatekept behind an exploit that not everyone is going to know about because it's not a official or endorsed mechanic, which means if you ever play pvp then you are forced to learn about the exploit to be competitive.

Since I already dropped a message about animation cancel, I feel like I should clarify few points.

I dont mind animation cancel that is done via movement during attack. That one is one hell of improvement over original DS, which also made the game more forgiving. You are also able to do that in Console and Mobile versions of the game with well timed movement.

However, I am one of those people that consider armor based animation cancel to be an exploit.

Feel free to disagree, this is a forum after all, everyone can have their own opinion. There been many "not exploits" that were fixed later on, who knows maybe they will change it eventually too.

I am of the idea that all bugs/exploits should be fixed, good or not.

I use a lot animation cancel with armor cancel, and i really like it.

But yea, as i stated before i think all bugs/exploits should be fixed, so...
