The Beefalo Nerf Wendy Deserves.

Warning there will be mild beta spoilers here but considering the devs posted the livestream of that outside of the beta section I feel it’s okay to discuss.

In the Beta Wendy now has a brand new “Haunt” Command, which much like casting Willows Spells or using Maxwells abilities places a circle on the ground as a cursor so you can aim and select things to haunt.

Currently this allows Wendy to perform the games various actions a dead human players ghost can do with Abigail.

But.. I suggest we remove the petal Bestowment damage boost (everyone gets more damage attacking the thing Abigail is attacking)

And we instead make this buff apply to when she “Haunts” things.

couple things to note: Haunt doesn’t require any sort of resource costs to use besides unlocking on the skill tree, so Wendy can “Haunt” as much as she likes.

This Will Nerf Wendys damage when fighting in a group of players by forcing her to only be able to buff one team member at a time per haunt (but maybe it lasts long enough you can buff more than one?) 

It also forces Wendy players to do more then just put Abby in riled up mode and safely enjoy her petal boost damage while nestled on a smelly FurCow.

Now Wendy will need to issue the “haunt” command to Abigail to haunt the Beefalo to apply the petal damage boost.

This I feel is a fair Nerf, that makes using the “haunt” ability that much more vital to Wendy’s core character.

Sometimes it’s less about nerfing something just for the sake of nerfing it, and more about nerfing something so something else gets to be used more frequently, in this case: it would achieve such a feat for the “haunt” command.

Which as I stated in the original post: Doesn’t require any resources to use (and probably should remain that way) you can spam it as much as you want & it just makes sense you’ll need to manually cast buffs on things now rather then that being an AFK Simulator.

The haunt command is good as-is, though. You can transform hounds (WX78 will love you and it's also free gems and teeth earlygame), you can get early spider queens (Webber will love you), you can guarantee glands as a drop from spiders, you can turn flowers into evil flowers for sanity stations, you can transform mushrooms, you can turn pigs into werepigs for free, you can randomize blueprints, you can use a One-Man Band for free without sacrificing a chest slot, and all sorts of other utility. Not everything needs to be directly combat-related.
