kroban
I love what Klei is doing with his skill tree. As a Walter main I appreciate a lot the improved slingshot, Woby getting even more tweaks on top of the ones she has now, and all these new rounds to toy around with these cool new effects. But heres some of my ideas and feedback for how his skill tree can get some good final touches: For the slingshot mods: - NGL, Thulecite frame is screaming for an AOE special ability. And yes, im talking about freeze, slow-down, and thulecite rounds hitting in a small aoe. That would add soooo much more utility for those ammos, let alone the potential boost in dps from cursed rounds. - The sticky handle mod is, IMO, not a good perk. Like, why would someone prefer that over the silk upgrade? I think it would be better to either change its effect or add something else and leave the sticky handle for the basic kit, maybe even make some mid-game tape to replace it and buff void tape a tiny bit more to give Walter a more solid DPS throughout the game. For the new ammo: - Gunpowder, or Pure Brilliance, can be the perfect opportunity to give Walter an AOE material farming ammo, kind of like Winona and her pure Brilliance catapults. And with Walter you could for example, purposefuly hit a punching bag (or birds) surrounded by trees to farm wood, marble, **** like that. - Dreadstone rounds are truly underpowered considering its from a rare material you only get from a boss, atleast in early. It having planar damage makes no sense, because by the time rift opens pure rounds are going to be the better choice. I think a sanity-related effect for it would make more sense. Maybe more damage the less sanity Walter has? Or a fear effect? - Pure Horror rounds: Parasites attacking the target and doing lifesteal for Walter. Maybe change the recipe so it requires dark tatters, so it becomes an end-game ammo. - Slow-Down Rounds: Lowering target DAMAGE or attack speed rather than slow. So we dont get the redundancy of having 3 ammos doing a slowering effect. - Moonglass rounds: Having a tiny + damage to shadow mobs would separate it a lot from stinger rounds, making stinger rounds more of an early game cheap aoe alternative. - Cursed rounds: Maybe the special attack from the thulecite frame could do something like 1 big tentacle rather than aoe summoning, kind of like the tentacles from Ancient Guardian, of course not doing the same damage lol. For Big Woby: - When it comes to Woby I think it will be understandable from the community if she gets some tweaks outside skill tree, and not in perks. I dont think Klei devs should force themselves into a corner by not wanting to change some baseline things on these character updates, And I say this specially for the case of Woby, who had no changes at all ever since she was added. To make her a "competitive alternative to Beefalos" theres just so much change she needs. Things like the small hunger bar and her not being able to directly tank damage should be changed outside skill tree, because otherwise I think it might be hard to manage all of her issues in just a couple perks. Again, this is just some feedback im giving as a guy that plays Walter a lot. I think overall Klei is doing an awesome job for this skill tree, but with these changes I think that my boy Walter will become BASED. Anyways, thanks for coming to my TED Talk, and thanks Klei for finally updating the character I like the most! Creamean6_7
When I saw gunpowder bullets, I wondered if Slurtle Slime was also considered as gunpowder with less damage. And Walter's bullet can make Sluttle produce Slurtle Slime. What if Slurtle Slime can make bullets? I can't imagine what happened later.
