Abigail kills lobster by default.

and why is dead lobster can't be cooked in the first place

probably because irl it is seen as generally correct to cook lobsters alive. it is believed that it makes them less likely to make you sick if you boil them to death instead of killing them before you cook them but mostly it is just because a lobster can stay alive for about three days out of water but have to be cooked right away once dead so there is more time to sell them before they have to be thrown out if you make the buyer kill them instead and as they are a bit dangerous it is easier to torture them through boiling than to risk getting pinched or having to learn less beastly methods of killing

Here's a great video explaining this behaviour:

I don't remember if wobsters are mentioned here specifically but it explains that Abigail, even when not riled up, would always attack two categories of creatures that are near her: monsters and prey. Monsters are self-explanatory, as to the "prey" - some small harmless creatures like moleworms and bunnies fall under this category. I'm pretty sure wobsters/lunar wobsters are considered prey as well.

I could have sworn I read somewhere that their immune system no longer works if they're dead, and their meat tends to be the target of some seriously nasty diseases that can be fatal to humans meaning they're more likely to contain said disease if their immune system isn't working to fight it out.

They should make stale/spoiled seafood in same worse for you than other foods.

Balances out how good they all are

they aren't, most people don't eat them because you can get same or more stats faster with food that you don't need to fish or kill something fishlike for

this is all animals. once dead the body becomes loaded down with eeeeverything under the sun and seafood does expire quite fast. that all being said we are talking about a day or two later where it gets dangerous. killing then freezing the carcass OR killing it on-site and cooking it within a couple hours is fine and only about as dangerous as fowl or fish in that situation. where i live you can in fact get raw dead lobster easily. if one takes basic precautions it is fine.

Yeah, spoiling seafood, but especially crustaceans, attracts some real nasty stuff.

having seafood go from fresh to spoiled would be way more accurate and would be much better than live-only cooking options

I think a system where the spoilage of dead lobsters significantly affecting the spoilage of the dish would be nice, but it's a bit too much work and also doesn't fully fit with the whole spoilage-reversing magic crockpots have.

Dead wobsters should be able to be cooked in pots though.
