    • To make the game easier.
    • Extra information, such as when the winter is coming.
    • Convenience, such as ground chest.
    • Appearence.
    • To make the learning curve smoother.
    • To make the game harder
    • To make it easier to communicate, such as status announcements.
    • I want to feel like a God.
    • I don't use mods.
    • I actively avoid mods (reason in replies)
    • Other (also replies)
    • Add more content, not necessarily to make the game easier or harder.

oh if we are sharing you can have mine too XD

Spoiler

modular colour cubes- just makes the world prettier

marsh fern spawner- spawns ferns in the above-ground marsh

tallbird island - makes an island with 20-30 tallbird nests on it because masochism

smaller worlds - makes the landmass about 1/3rd the size of the smallest default setting

don't drop everything - when you die you keep (most of) your inventory

fire resurrection - when i play with death-prone newbies we can resurrect at any firepit or campfire(looking at you j**e...)

tmip  shows the full map on spawn so you can check if a world-gen is good and respawn yourself to a concealed map if it is or regen the world if it isn't

ice backpack - sets backpack to the icebox settings

global perish settings - sets iceboxes to never decay(which combos to set backpacks to never decay)

auto-stack and pick up - self explanatory and pretty much the only mod aside from colour cubes i don't play without in solo worlds

health info - what it says on the tin

animal variety - makes mobs different colours

99 stack - eases the brain itchies by making all items have the same stack limit (99)

dunno, corekeeper left beta at the same time and i spent aaaaall of my time on there up until last week when i got too sick to play much of anything but it -should- work fine. all it does is reduce down the room size for each biome so as long as you dont overload it on resources it ought to be fine.

if it isnt though you can just only have the forest shard small and leave the caves shard at a standard size

just tested it. works fine!

Thanks, was seaching for a mod like that for a while

A mix of convenience, making things more fun, and because I like Touhou~

Like... Can't imagine playing without Touhou Music Mod for example~

Also, sharing map exploration with friends is too convenient to pass on.

Stuff like that~

I use some QoL mods but also a lot of mods for extra decoration options for my megabase. Here are a few:

* A mod that allows to plant flowers closer, for neatly designed dense flowerbeds

* A mod that allows to clean sweep flowers, cawnival decor etc

* A mod that lights cawnival night lights automatically at dusk

* A mod that makes planted crops never rot

* A mod that makes food and perishable items not spoil visually in crockpots/on mannequins/in bird cages, until you interact with them

* A mod that allows to hammer endtables to change flower appearance in them

* A mod that makes pumpkin lanterns never rot (but makes them into permanent structures).

Strictly speaking, a lot of them can potentially break game balance if you abuse them but I try to apply my own reasoning (say, I will not rely on cawnival lights entirely for my main light source and would only use this mod in my long-term world where I have plenty other light solutions). Or I will not abuse dense flower beds to make sanity stations, I would rather just eat sanity food or wear CC crown most of the time to keep it up anyway.

Above is a great mod to use on Klei official servers if you want to skip exploration and get right to boss fighting. Also makes miner hat into moggles, buffs all light sources really saving insight points in a couple character skilltrees.

Surprised klei haven't banned it from the workshop but I guess they don't want to mess with Chinese dst players after that last fiasco :wilsoalmostangelic:

There are too many unreasonable, inhuman places in the game, you like to develop those games that do not make money, and then ignore your revenue boss, do not optimize the game, I really can not understand what you do, maybe really, you think this game has lived for 8 years too long, too lazy to update the content

I much appreciate people who make high quality thought-out mods that actually expand on something in-game, not necessarily make it harder or easier. Bonus points if mod tries to fit it thematically into established game design and art style. I do enjoy playing with information mods because I now don't have much time to invest into micromanaging and memorizing time dependent events.

Also valve's workshop system is extremely janky and in severe need of overhaul. Navigating steam workshop feels like putting your hand into some kind of wicked Jigsaw trap because of 29 pages of slop and half-assed mods you encounter before finding something actually worth the download.

The option "I want to feel like a god" feels very judgemental and that is why I voted for it.

Why shouldn't I be able to decide how difficult the game should be to me? If I use client mods on your server it is my choice and it doesn't affect you besides me being faster at some tasks and maybe getting to boss first which is very rare to see on pubs that multiple players are rushing the same boss.

Convenience is a big reason I have played DST so much over the years and it has mostly been solved by mods but there have been some klei updates too. The most important mod for me now is the one that lets make me blueprints to paste over on the next server, so many farms and setups always stay the same and it is painful to rebuild them without this mod.

Mod that lets me remove snow and rain effects is also very important, I like seeing roads in winter and I don't like seeing rain, I prefer when less things move on my screen.

Status announcement mod is also quite good to use when playing with people because it lets you share information as If you were in voice call.

The only client mods i actively despise others using in servers im in are the ones that reveal the entire map. They make the game way less fun by taking away the exploration factor, the balance between getting stuff done and finding a good place to base early on.

Friend of mine insists on using it. It’s awful.
