WarspiteOUO
IMBUED MOTHER TREEK I think there has already been quite a lot of people voicing their opinion on this fight, namely how chaotic it is with everything on screen at once; I think there is nothing wrong with the moveset, but rather the sheer amount of things thrown at the player on screen really creates a lot of visual clutter. Especially during the final phase (~30% health), she summons a lot of imbued bulbins constantly, on top of having giant yammos and gourdos joining in the fight, as well as imbued small treeks and spamming projectiles, ON TOP of the boss gaining increased attack speed during this phase with her root attacks AND her bombs, AS WELL as the additional roadblocking root tentacles spawned to block off certain areas of the arena. You literally cannot possibly see what is going on other than "You need to spam dodge"; it also means you should just give up if you didn't get any self-sustain/shield powers because it becomes near impossible to play perfectly with 12 enemies on top of you each using a different attack, and you know the fight WILL drag on if you are using the proto weapons, given her SELF HEALING capabilities together with the gourdo. At least for the solo experience, I feel like the focus of the threat should shift more towards the boss itself, as she can definitely further expand on her otherwise pretty simplistic moveset; or if they are sticking with the concept of a horde-intensive fight, the fight as it is right now has certainly overdone it. With the arena already being the size that it is and the root tentacles further locking it down, there is no right for there to be this many threats active all at once, cut down the numbers or make them die more quickly/automatically after a while. IMBUED OWLITZER I find this one actually, much more enjoyable than imbued mother treek. It's only the boss for the majority of the fight, with the occasional added threat of a gnarlic. It baffles me how they have done it so perfectly here and completely overdone it on Mother Treek, the occasional appearance of a gnarlic and windblowers adds so much diversity to the fight without being overwhelming or visually busy, its an elegantly executed addition that perfectly goes with the flow of the Owlitzer fight, and the change up in her spikeball pattern to include a full row demands a perfectly timed dodge through a line of spikeballs. It's learnable, it expands upon what you have already familiarized yourself with Owlitzer, but then still keeps you on your toes. The fight only starts to veer into Mother Treek territory during the final phase when a lot more bulbins starts appearing, but it's still more manageable here with gnarlics and bulbins being similar enemies in terms of how to deal with them. The real problem is with her faster recovery after the dive attack, you may struggle to find an opening to attack her during this phase. I think the only change I'd propose is make her recover slower after the dive attack during the final phase. SOME GENERAL THOUGHTS REGARDING SF I do understand that these are meant to be a challenge, but do keep in mind that for solo players they are supposed to bring their proto weapons into these hunts. I have seen most people completing these hunts in multiplayer instead and stating that the scaling didn't seem to increase too drastically, maybe the scaling for solo play should be looked at? I would also vow to maybe remove/lower the chance of material rooms in SF hunts, unless there will be a unique/special loot scaling in SF I think most people would be playing SF to unlock the boss weapons, getting a difficult material room really serves minimal purpose in terms of helping you defeat the final boss. HeatAndRun
I laughed so hard after seeing the sheer chaos of the Imbued Mother Treek fight when I saw it for the first time. Personally it reminded me of frenzy 3 fight at the very first day of Rotwood Early Access. Honestly I've exactly expected to face such a challenging run when I heard the word "Super Frenzy", and quite satisfied about the spiciness of the fight and the "uncertainty" of the victory. But rationally speaking, it might be a little too much for the beginning of the super frenzy. There're possibility of more hard fight in the future with higher levels of super frenzy, so I don't mind if the first level of super frenzy becomes easier. Kacpert25
Totally agree about Imbued Mother Treek. This boss is just terrible. What pisses me off the most is the number of mobs it constantly respawns. The first wave with two buffed Zuccos is already exaggerated. Due to their spinning attacks, it is almost impossible to get close to the healing plant without taking damage. Same with Treek, in the last patch they were limited to one spawn at the beginning of the fight, but I think they shouldn't spawn more than one at all, because they limit the area during the fight too much, which is already limited by Mother Treek's attacks. And I won't write about the number of Bulbins, because it has already been done in this post. Developer jambell Posted October 16, 2024 Developer Share Posted October 16, 2024 Hey @WarspiteOUO, welcome to the forum and thanks for the excellent feedback. We are currently internally testing further changes to the Imbued Mother Treek fight, and our assessment has been pretty in line with yours. In general, any time the difficulty comes from "too much is happening for me to read what's going on, and I have no option other than to mash Dodge", it means we have pushed too far. There are times when something like this feeling is appropriate, but when those times exist they are typically in the desperate last few moments of the fight as both you and the boss are challenged to finish the other one off, or perhaps for a wave in a "Hard" combat encounter room. I think you've identified one of these moments in your notes re: Imbued Owlitzer. Super Frenzies are intended to be a challenge that test your ability to make builds and execute mechanically, but Mother Treek presently requires a too much perfection and for too long a period of time, at least for Super Frenzy 1. We definitely think there is a place for this intensity and perfection of execution in eventual higher Super Frenzy levels, but not for the introduction of Super Frenzy. We will be pushing an update soon that features more adjustments to making this fight more in line with what we want out of Super Frenzies. Thanks for your feedback, and please keep it coming!
