Nightlight should reveal the stalking Rictus?

Pretend that other kinds of lights can't work because of regular light masking it away, but the nightlight would be a fake light that uncovers Rictus out of it's hiding.

it could also apply to anything hidden or trying to be sneaky tbf, kinda like a thing they could either try avoiding or not know of being revealed

Consider that this will give the Night Light more functionality and make Nightmare Fuel burn more.

Isn’t the nightlight a shadow related item though? Why would it make a shadow creature weak?

For context we clearly watch Charlie sucking up a whole bunch of moon Gashalts with the power of the shadow aligned tragic torch.

If anything Night Lights should scare away Gashalts and Grazers, but NOT the shadows.

it's shadow fueled, it's got nightmarefuel in it's crafting and it is very shadow related fire. if it would reveal disguised threats it maybe would make it better than needing to tank rictus or need toothtrap to fight it idk

Alternatively, Klei could update old items in their game to support new functions and content.

Wendys Sisturn is an excellent addition to the game that allows socketing flower petals inside like a storage container to power it & Pearls Hermit House can be upgraded through interacting with it and applying Items directly to it.

Seems logical that a crafted nightlight can be upgraded with resources and then fueled with resources for different functionality.

In this particular case, im thinking upgrading it with moon glass and then fueling it with unstable moon shards (the ones that fall during rift rain) to turn it into an Enlightened Torch.

This is what I was saying wayyyyyyy back when this whole rift concept was started, if I’m supposed to be dealing with Moon Rift stuff to make the Shadow Rift Stuff easier or Vice Versa- Then it needs to be way more fleshed out.
