If it makes you feel any better, there is a 5 second window before  the poop disappears. You can still collect it but it might still prove cumbersome

Well, it's not a game-breaker and at that point I can most certainly get by without the free periodical Manure. What I don't understand is all the hate that pooping Beefaloes are getting since it's really useful throughout most of a playthrough.
