Intrepidpioneer
So imagine a scenario where you are running around at night and your torch is burning low, then as expected it goes out, and you are fearing the worst. Then suddenly, you see an eerie glow in the distance, some strange blue fruit in the swamp lands. You go to pick it only to find out... you can't. The fruit glows in the dark to help you see it at night but you cannot pick it at night without a light? but If I had a light I wouldn't necessarily need night vision unless a specific circumstance. I think night berries should be pickable at night without a light source, no? Well-met
its the same as other "bright" items. They show up through darkness but do not actually emit light. Lovens
Considering they are such a late game reward this seems like a very unlikely scenario to me. If you see them have fruit it means it's been at least a year since they were planted, and it's hard to find those seeds early game since they're so rare. Usually about 1.5 year into the world you won't be relying on a torch as your only light source and likely have at least a lantern. Plus managing your light source's fuel show be a vital skill regardless of the situation. Imagine you ran out of light and there is no eerie glow and night berry to be picked - now what? abrocator
If a thermal stone is bright enough to avoid Charlie these should definitely glow enough to be picked. Captain_Rage
My tame Beefalo is super bright and smarter than most players yet you can't see her in the dark. I see your point, but an older world does not necessarily mean the participants are old as well, for example a public server where someone new has joined. Managing your light source is important, but i can see a scenario where something happens (ie: Forgetfulness or mismanagement) I just think if you need a light to pick something that gives your night vision it should work across the board, like glow berries.
