Mariolo
As you probably know, the dlc is releasing this thrusday. Here are a couple of tweaks I would like to see before the full release. Bammoth and flox changes The Bammoth nerf was overkill. Now they are ranched in a calory deficit with the only benefit being some reed fiber and phosphorous (which is done better by dreckos). I don't see any late game applications for this critter. The floxes are fine as they are if they want to keep them as early game exclussive critters, but if they want to compete with arbor trees they would need a change. Alternative scale growth conditions would be cool. I would also love to see new morphs, but I believe that's something that could come in the future (like the plug slug morphs). Tallow and seals The mercury lamps were a very good addition, and renewable snow makes bonbon trees viable. I would like to see a pipe input added to the ice maker and a lead geyser to make our lives a little easier, but other than that I think spigot seal ranches are perfect the way they are now. The deep frier is alright, but I still think it's too niche. Squash fries are now worth making, but the other foods are outclassed by other recipes (spicy tofu, surf&turf). I would add squash fries into some new gas range recipe and a brand new deep frier recipe. It is also strange how we got a new cooking station but none of the new foods are +5 quality. I just want more late game options for food. Coal problem Currently there's a serious scarcity of coal in ceres which means that you can only get steel from other asteroids or lucky care packages. This can soft lock your progression if you disable care packages in the base game. Many have suggested adding charcoal from wood which seems like a good idea, Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/158300-suggestions-before-release/ Share on other sites
suicide commando
The coal issue has actually been solved already. They added a little bit of coal but more importantly, they added a recipe to the kiln. You can turn Wood into a refined carbon, so steel production is no longer a bottleneck. I swear I read the patch notes Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/158300-suggestions-before-release/#findComment-1735551 Share on other sites
Carib94
Bammoth Nerf was overkill indeed. They need to either revert back to how they were or just make them eat 2.5 plants(i guess). With that I can see Bammoth ranch late game but to each their own, if a player wanna switch to dreckos later. since dreckos require nothing Floxes are ok now and I dont understand why ppl keep trying to compete them with arbor trees, Floxes is just another way to get wood and they are a good early and mid game critter and can be used in the late if you want to. While trees needs a lot seeds, setup, and pips for wild farm or if you are lucky a Polluted Water Vent, but when you do finish it, it is OP but not everything needs to be OP. Mercury Lamp and Ice Maker(pipe input please and thanks Klei I know you can do it.) to make Snow basically saved the Seals and BonBon Trees which I am happy about. I agree with Deep Fryer should have at least 1 +5 food especially needing tallow, its research being tier 3, and its power requirement I personally think it should have 8 recipes. Altho gas range food is better I still like that Pacu and Sanishells have another food option besides the usual cooked seafood/surf and turf. Also Im glad that nosh beans are better thanks to nosh snacks. It is not necessary to cook +5 foods in late game since most players stick to berry sludge/BBQ anyways so honestly anything +3 and up foods are okay with me. StarvingAngler
I just really hate being normal, and a gas range for end game complex but high teir recipes is normal, so I just really want the deep fryer to have complex but high teir recipes so that I don't need to use the normal natural gas for a gas range and can be unique with tallow for a deep fryer. Primalflower
I don't really understand the take that floxes are bad/early game only. They're practically free. Phosphorite is easy to get for free and they take pitiful amounts of it so their lumber production can be expanded wayyyy faster and with way less cost than arbor trees they're both very capable sources of lumber Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/158300-suggestions-before-release/#findComment-1735588 Share on other sites

But there is still a problem with the production of ceramic. Clay was never issue as we got another source of it. gigamoi
Yeah. It's kinda weird that we got a new, quite powerful IMO, source of clay, but no means to cook it. A wood + clay -> ceramic kiln recipe would seem appropriate. Knurek
You don't need coal to produce ceramic. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/158300-suggestions-before-release/#findComment-1735671 Share on other sites
imazined
And loose 50% of mass. Still feels like am oversight. I think the wood to (char-)coal solution has still advantages. If it is only done by heat conversion the loss of mass happens at the coal level making it less appealing to fall back to coal generators.
