Telepads vs Wormholes, till when?

I want to hear opinions regarding this question, I'm going to go over pros and cons.


Telepad:

Pros:

Tellebrela works from anywhere

Can place Tele pad anywhere

 

Cons:

Requires precision to make grid network

Takes time to gather crafting resources

Generator cost

Cache cool-down
Needs to spend some time daily on caches

 

 

Wormholes:

Pros:

Accessible early on,

No resource cost

Can worm into half of biomes

 

Cons:

Wormhole locations are random

Sanity cost

Requires basing near one of wormhole



In your opinion, on average till what day wormholes are more worth then telepads? or till what state of game?

P.S. I am not taking into account caves since wormholes currently not working there.

I use both but I prefer Telepads. It takes a lot of effort to get them all right and also requires a lot of CC killing to make a full system permanent without requiring frequent refuels. So I use wormholes a lot.

I mainly have 1 telepad in base, and 1 telebad at the sinkhole exit in the caves so I can quickly go home in case of an emergency. While they are cheap, they are somewhat pricey to maintain early on so I tend to focus on just the 2 telepads for "I am in danger, gtfo!" moments.

In short lived pubs and with a **** generation, charlie wormholes is much better

Why is the pole rigged? You ask if people use wormholes then you ask when they swap to the telepads.

For me personally it depends on playstyle, I’m NOT a MegaBaser, I have no desires to teleport structures and other items beyond what is in my immediate inventory with me when I teleport.

So obviously if you play a nomad playstyle Wormholes are more than efficient enough that you WON’T need to swap to Telepads at any time.

My issue with telepads is everyone has to agree to an already made network in the later parts of the game. For example, I'm playing a pub with another Winona, he set up a massive network around the world, took like 200 days and an excel spreadsheet. Now if I want a telepads at my base, he'll have to reconfigure the entire network to account for it, if it can even accommodate it at all.

So far I have only used telepads, cause they look cooler. I am interested in trying out wormholes sometime later, though.

I personally feel that the Charlie side of things is in needs an update in the future probably adjacent to when wortox gained the ability to warp via the map. Nothing to crazy, but enough to address the abnormality of the fact that aligning with the shadows has barely any benefits within the caves. (the shadow aligned shard)

The lunar side has so many advantages, shadow... a bit lacking. tele pad and tele-brella makes daily life so much nicer, place one at base, carry one on hand along with a generator and you can tp back and forth as if you got check points. The shadow side, has some stuff that is cool, but... its so odd. A free rez and charlie immunity? great if you are in a pub I suppose and want to goof off, and why rose tendril bridges? The planar strikes both have their uses and are great at what they do, no real complaints there.

I will say that the best part of the shadow side, is fueling the lunar side hilariously, nightmare fuel is an excellent fuel source that reduces the consumption of nitre which is very nice.

So far ive noticed that the telepads are really easy to just fuel with shadow fuel, but that might be because i only have 1 set up and i havent figured out how to make a grid network yet.

Easiest way is calculaling Tiles, best is using Turf-Raiser Helm whit some turf inside. Of course on pc there is mods now that help with that, can be even hexagon
