Add more varied loot to the treasure chests!

Recommended Posts

I absolutely love the ocean now that treasure chests have been made to include some more interesting loot, as well as making them more common. One caveat I have though is that other than the archaic boat and seeds, there seems to be a very small pool of loot to draw from. While I do enjoy the walking canes and thulecite suits, I would really like it if the loot was more randomized and not just 4-5 preset tables. I used to be an ocean hater, but with the winona skill tree and allowing me to shoot fish with catapults, I have had the time of my life being a treasure hunter. Even adding some basic resources, more tools or other similar things that get rolled when you open the chests would feel very nice.

thank you mr. John Klei

I think it would be nice if they changed them like how they currently use the new ocean setpieces: give it a “set” of loot, but vary the items you can get per chest (EX: for the ruins one, instead of getting a pick/axe and suit always, it could pick a list of 2 random ruins crafts that are not the houndius). I feel it would certainly add more variety to them.

Exactly!!! It should have like different tiers of loot available, each that have a rare chance to roll, like tier 1 loot being like grass, kelp, twigs, papyrus, etc. with like a 55% chance
and tier 2 being common gems, maybe low amounts of thulecite etc.

the fixed loot tables get really stale after getting thulecite suit, pick/axe and lantern 17 times in one autumn
