[Ideas] Wanda Skill Tree

Recommended Posts

Here are a couple of ideas for Wanda's skill tree.

Center: Gems

L1 - L6 can be learnt in any order

L1 - Grandmother Clock

Wanda can spend 2 Walrus Tusks, 6 Living Logs, and 6 Time Pieces to create a Grandmother Clock. A Grandmother Clock can contain 12 locations, each set by using a Backtrek Watch on it. Backtrek Watches can copy the locations of Grandmother Clocks by using them on the slot, and each slot can be marked by an item.

L2 - Lazy Time-Waster

Wanda can upgrade a Backstep Watch with an Orange Gem, allowing her to use it to teleport in any direction. Uses durability when used which scales with distance travelled.

L3 - Chrono-Constructor

Wanda can craft a Chrono-Constructor with 1 Green Gem, 4 Thulecite, 8 Nightmare Fuel, and 1 Timekeeper's Tools. When held, halves the construction cost of any item. Can be used to disassemble clocks, returning all materials. Can be refueled with Nightmare Fuel, at 1/5 of a use per fuel. Counts as Watchmaker's Tools.

L4 - Seasonal Sundial

Wanda can craft a Seasonal Sundial with a Yellow Gem, 10 Nightmare Fuel, and 15 Thulecite. When used, causes the local area to count as a specific season for 10 seconds, and causes every mob (MacTusks, Pigs, Spiders, Beefalo, Goats) to instantly respawn. Requires 10 Nightmare Fuel to refuel.

L5 - Ageless Foods

Wanda can use an Ageless Watch on any perishables, refreshing their perish time.

L6 - Potential Dial

Wanda can activate a Moon Dial with a Blue Gem to replace sanity with lunacy in a small area.

Bottom Circle: Time

III/IV/V- Timely Arrival 1/2/3 - Wanda's clocks refresh 10/20/30% faster

VII/VIII/IX- Time Dilation 1/2/3 - Wanda's health drain 20/30/40% slower when hit.

VI - Fast Hands - Wanda's Alarming Clock attacks 15% faster, but if that hit would not kill, the damage is reduced proportionally.

Top Circle: Affinity

X - March of Time - Wanda gains the ability to transform 10 Age and Nightmare Fuel into Pure Horror.

XI - Horrifying Watch - Wanda refuels her watch with Pure Horror, causing 33/66/100% of her damage to be planar when young/middle-aged/old.

II - Potential Timeline - Wanda can kill Gestalts for Potential.

I - Alternate History - Wanda can refuel her Alarming Clock with Potential, causing her Alarming Clock to deal 100/66/33% of her damage as planar at young/middle/old age.

thats an interesting take on what wanda could be, i was thinking more of three areas for the skill tree:

new, cresent and full, like the phases of the moon

new is young wanda, it focus on her utility

crecent is mid age wanda and focus on her clocks

full is old wanda and focus on her combat

the grandmother clock could be a great way for her to organize her locations, one interesting use could be that her regular trek watch will make her teleport to the grand clock, and for the clock she can teleport to another place.

seasonal dial sounds strong, it should require an item she cant get until winter to avoid her from farming tusk during the first autumn, which is one of her weaknesses, she often trades how powerful her teleports are to use vs how easy they are to get.

could be that she can upgrade a fridge with a clock making it so food inside it wont perish? but that could be too strong

they are definetely going to give her planar damage i was thinking, what if they make the alarming clock have a specific tempo? basically the clock tic tac, and when it sounds a different way, it is armed and the next hit will deal significally more damage, basically imagine wanda kiting and waiting until her clock TAC just to slap deerclops for 300 damage until the clock TIC down the kite more

alternate history should be wanda's lunar side of course, but wouldnt it be better to give shadow a different buff? what if shadow wanda gets a defensive perk since she will prefer to be at low health, another alternative is to just double down, give shadow the massive damage buff, and lunar even more defense when young for those that just dont like the risk whatsoever

Anything revolving around “Backtrek” is going to INSTANTLY be terrible and half-ass functional on an Xbox controller.

I get it, DST was a game designed for Keyboard and Mouse controls in mind first and foremost, but that doesn’t mean that characters should have superior performance on PC than they do on Consoles.

Thats just going to cause Klei a major headache When/If they ever plan to reach that pipeline dream of theirs to make the game cross-platform playable.

But then again.. what do I know? They probably don’t even likely care.

What I can say about “Wanda” though is that I hope her skill tree doesn’t revolve around features that barely work.

Id rather have small little gimmicky stuff like % Chance to find a watch or watch parts while rummaging through Catcoon Dens.

I mean.. if Klei really really wants to get creative with her let me open blackholes up underneath the feet of nearly dead mobs to banish them into another dimension or something like that..

But whatever you do, don’t bank all your money on her backtrek.

Everything about Wanda seems very distant to me. I think Wanda's skill tree will be one of the last. I would even like Wortox to come before her. In September I guess it will be at Walter and Warly.

Many liked Wolfgang's tree when it came out and today many complain when comparing it to other "better" skill trees...
