marshyds
In my opinion he's really good and fits as a stepping stone toward activating shadow rifts, though i havent figured out much use for his rewards (Any suggestions?) Other than that it's just boring, the fight is staged like every other from beyond fight, you are forced to fight in a particular way otherwise the boss gets much much harder. This attack is predictable even if it's impossible to dodge with reaction time. For me, he's an amazing fight. I cannot lie to myself here and pretend that this or that is wrong on him. Everything about him is cool, and I really enjoy engaging with him, my only problem with him is that.. his drops are not really that good on certain characters, so like 99% of the time when I'm playing anything except max I just don't feel like fighting him. I also feel like Klei could maybe rethink the spawning properties of this boss in specific. He's always in the caves first, and then on the surface, but I wish there was a way to choose where he'll spawn first just for gameplay purposes. Most of the time I just rush the ruins and then skip pass him, but when I need the elatispacer I want the surface one back, so I have to go down just to kill him. Surely that's nothing but a minor minor annoyance, but could be changed. DegenerateFurry
6 hours ago, loopuleasa said: I don't know about you guys, but for some reason I really like fighting nightmare werepig. Out of all bosses, fighting with this dude flows really well and feels like a dance, I don't know what it is. It's a very simple fight pattern, but it is done well. Simple, but what it does it does well. I love fighting my boy, feels like a sparring session with a recurring villain. "CUURSE YOU, I will get you next time" he says as he huffs into the void. Looking forward to next time, pal. I think a good metric for a boss fight is how enjoyable the boss is to fight again. I like Nightmare Werepig and Scrappy Werepig quite a lot too. Honestly, I'm a fan of all of the new boss designs, including the reworked Crab King. They're all so much more fun than the "hold F, do the basic 3-hit kiting pattern, and maybe spam this specific item to counteract the annoying thing the boss does" designs from A New Reign (although Klaus is easily the best execution of that concept since he substitutes an obnoxious mechanic, like Old Crab King's boat destruction or Fuelweaver's invincibility+healing phase, with changing up his attacks periodically). benfroyobro9381
He's a good boss. I do wish there was a way to be more aggressive and not have to wait for Werepig to do all of his lunges. Like a way to interrupt them, though DST's simple combat system is a bit of a barrier to these sorts of things. He's an anti tanking boss with all of his cc so his fight feels longer than it should be. Overall a wellmade fight. Castiliano
I love going through there and killing this boss again and again, even when I don't need dreadstone and pure horror anymore Definitely one of my favorite fights 3 minutes ago, benfroyobro9381 said: He's an anti tanking boss with all of his cc so his fight feels longer than it should be. Guille6785
despite having a lot less HP than most of the older bosses, werepig feels incredibly drawn out to me even compared to bosses with multiple times its HP, I don't like the fight at all 9 hours ago, HellHeater said: in contrast to spending 40 minutes to prepare and then just hold f for 8 minutes? ill take it and ill love it literally what boss fits this description 9 hours ago, loopuleasa said: Well there's your problem, this is not a souls game. Antynomity
I liked the fight before every boss started to be like him, do X hit Y times, repeat, there's no strategy or skill (knowledge) expression and it's sad to me they keep going in that direction, CK's rework is such a joke. Don't get me stated on the scrappy werepig, a fight that genuinely made me think I'm playing an early prototype of a fight when I first played it. You hit them a certain amount of times and then you dodge. Like I like Werepig but I'd argue the mutated forms of Deerclops and Beager which came after werepig are of similiar quality with requirement of skill and strategy with getting your hits in with good timing to stun them and their attacks potentially comboing to easily kill you if you're not careful. Evelo
Imo, Antlion is the gold standard for a Seasonal Boss. I love her so much. Easy to kill, globally annoying, only shows up during 1 season. Would love if Deerclops was perma winter's feasted (without all the other Winter's feast stuff by forcing it to be always on), Bearger and Moose/Goose got updated to be more alarming. But yes Nightmare Werepig is an awesome fight. One of my favorites, coming from someone who hates DST combat and boss fighting.
