loopuleasa
I don't know about you guys, but for some reason I really like fighting nightmare werepig. Out of all bosses, fighting with this dude flows really well and feels like a dance, I don't know what it is. It's a very simple fight pattern, but it is done well. Simple, but what it does it does well. I love fighting my boy, feels like a sparring session with a recurring villain. "CUURSE YOU, I will get you next time" he says as he huffs into the void. Looking forward to next time, pal. I think a good metric for a boss fight is how enjoyable the boss is to fight again. Gashzer
Yeah hes the gold standard of what a boss fight should be. He has personality, his attacks have weight, hes not too long if you have learned his fight pattern and he never feels boring to refight. Gameplayer143
I used to remember being an absolute noob at this game and dying when trying to get him to smash the pillars. Now I try to get him everytime after I rush ruins, because not only because Dreadstone Helmets are really useful, but I enjoy his fight. Haha good old times. I love how unique is the fight while DF is very repetitive Poor malbatross, they are good. Is fun to sail while fighting. Ridley
Yep, it is in my top 3 favorite bosses along with FW and Klaus. There is a lot of personality in how he fights, he can throw a few surprising change ups, and that combo attack feels so painful in a fun way. He also doesn't require a lot of preparation so losing to him isn't as devastating as failing to kill the raid bosses can be. It probably helps my opinion that I fought this boss completely blind. If you watched someone show you how to dodge his attacks you wouldn't have the same satisfaction of discovering the solution yourself. He is one of the best bosses for learning how to fight since he uses only one new attack in each phase before he starts switching it up in the final phase. Only thing I would ask for is that it is made more clear that he is healing. I don't think there is any reason to assume his stalking mode is actively healing him. Idk how many times i suggested adding some FX to know he healing. When i first fought him i hated the fight because it took me super long to kilk him (also he didnt have the variety of atacks and combos he has now), i though he had tons of HP until someone mentioned he heals when stalking... i though klei wanted to make the game more clear an intuitive Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157861-is-nightmare-werepig-perfection-in-a-boss-fight/#findComment-1731906 Share on other sites

I think it fits and is something cool and fresh Is the 1st time we see something that isnt a survivor interacting and being affected by using shadow magic and the fight, for a miniboss, is really cool and, even if is just melee without other mechanics involved, is really fun. Also the atmosphere of finding him in the dark and fighting him... is perfect, im glad they moved it to the caves despite some feedback against that, nothing beats feeling he is observing you from the dark while preparing to atack again I wish scrap version were better, have better loot and was funnier to fight.. Perfect he definitely isn't. His healing ability is a joke, but that's a small detail. It's a cool boss, of medium to easy difficulty. Great for its purpose (being an intermediary). Klaus is better than him, but the difference is small for me. His metric is that of an intermediate boss and Klei must maintain a difficulty scale of the giants in the game (very easy, easy, medium, difficult). I think it fits and is something cool and fresh Because it has nothing in common or consistent with the rest of the game. Also too much act and nothing but act. You find it, do some WASD sports that you've never done before and won't do afterwards, and leave. no application of previously learned mechanisms, no new to found and discover. At this point it is even inferior to spiders and ordinary werepig And outside of this combat his is basically... Disabled. He basically no ability to interact with any creature or mechanic other than "a player fighting him with designed act way". He can't even properly aggro back a non-player mob that attacking him. Brago-sama
He's neat i guess. At the very least he provides me a last hurah after raiding the ruins. _zwb
Its's rather frustrating when he starts a lunge immediately after he gets up, combo you with knockbacks for a few seconds. Other than that it's just boring, the fight is staged like every other from beyond fight, you are forced to fight in a particular way otherwise the boss gets much much harder.
