Dens/Entity Spawners should recover health very slowly

Recommended Posts

I've had this issue in the back of my mind for a while, but it got refreshed with marotter dens and how they also work on a health system.

I don't think there's anything wrong with a den using health as opposed to breaking with a hammer or the like, but a big issue with this message is accidental/chip damage (EX: earthquake debris, moonstorm lightning going off, or gestalts accidentally hitting them when attacking a mob next to it) adding up overtime on a den. There's no way to determine a den's health, and it's especially bad when there are no other way to remake these dens. Slurtle dens in particular suffer from this, but I myself have issues with beehives as I like keeping them around for decor and occassional moonstorm strikes hit them without me being able to mine them.

I propose that dens should very slowly heal up overtime, similar to mobs like houndius/bunnymen. I feel 1 HP every ~5 seconds would be more than sufficient for this purpose. This should not in any practical sense make a difference when you are attacking a den with the intention to destroy it, but will allow dens to shrug off chip damage overtime and will avoid accidents like breaking dens from occurring due to earthquake debris/gestalt attacks.

The dens/spawners I want this change for in particular are:
-Marotter dens
-Slurtle Mounds
-Bees/Killer bee hives
-Spider dens (technically unnecessary since they do "heal" when growing up, but might as well add for consistency)

I feel this would be a pretty fair and would help prevent accidents with destroying dens due to environmental factors adding up overtime. I do hope to see a change like this added.
