Tigin
Since https://forums.kleientertainment.com/klei-bug-tracker/oni_beta/cold-scolding-but-i-am-not-cold-r45189/ was fixed, I haven't seen a realistic way for cold scolding to be a factor. The low temperatures needed (-90C) means it'll never come up in the environment (except possibly the Frozen Fossil/Frozen Core? Am I missing something else?). The only time you'll encounter this in real gameplay is if you're skinny dipping your dupes in a sour gas boiler or liquid hydrogen condensor. Perhaps the threshold should be raised to something like -45C, so the Nectar biome could pose somewhat of a hazard? Even more challenging would be lowering it to 0C to mandate the use of a Warming Station or a warm sweater for survival. Debuffs like Soggy Feet could also significantly decrease the Cold Scold threshold. If this experience is too challenging, a sliding scale on temperature tolerance makes sense as well. NewWorldDan
My dupe did get cold scolded on the Frozen Fossil. But since they fixed the bug for cold scolding when entering/leaving vacuum, it hasn't been an issue. suicide commando
A sliding difficulty scale to set the temps at which dupes get scalded would be nice. And getting wet should definitely worsen their condition, perhaps reducing the time on their 'immune to cold/heat issues' buff. sakura_sk
2 hours ago, Tigin said: was fixed Was it fixed? Mentioning it fixed in the bug tracker doesn't mean the update for that fix is out yet. The only update after the beta was available, mentions 3 crashing bugs and no other fixes Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157684-is-cold-scolding-ever-an-issue/#findComment-1730420 Share on other sites
Tigin
Quote Fixed issue causing Duplicants to sometimes take cold damage when leaving a vacuum. I believe that was the general case that was fixed Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157684-is-cold-scolding-ever-an-issue/#findComment-1730428 Share on other sites
sakura_sk
Opps! Sorry about that.. My brain defaulted to "crash" instead of "issue" for the third fix too while reading that update... Charletrom
I agree, especially considering how relatively easy it is to scald dupes in hot environments. There's quite an asymmetry there. asurendra
Thats definitely matter for some modded worlds. Also some Space out beeta biomes spawns with -100C if I remember it right. I really like the idea of option to customize scolding threshold. Thats will make some funny shenanigans Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157684-is-cold-scolding-ever-an-issue/#findComment-1730917 Share on other sites
