BezKa
Typing as I play: - The new planetoid looks wonderful. The design is cold and frigid, and distinct enough from the classical Tundra biome from base game - The music. Oh I love the music. The night and morning jingle are so good. - Freyja's hair is a vibe. - As an experienced (but not really "good" player) I can already see a lot of exciting stuff. I can't wait to get my hands on all of them - Floxes look pretty stiff when moving. They also have "scale growth" instead of antler growth - Dupes show clearly that they're cold and the effects seem fair (I don't recall if they're identical to base game?). I don't see additional settings for these, but an option to make the effects even harsher or weaker could be fun - ooo data banks look different, like in animations! Lovely detail. - it looks like a lot of the DLC will be about burning wood and managing carbon dioxide. With Alveo Vera it looks like I'll be getting most of my oxygen in early game this way - Temperature overlay showing which objects generate heat is pretty and useful. Duplicants heating up and being able to brave the cold for a limited time afterward is way better than just heating up the surroundings altogether. - Mercury in the game? More room temp liquid metals? Hmmm - Lumen Quartz is awesome. I hope there'll be more colors and shapes. The carve order seems to disappear on reload. - Geothermal Heat Pump??? Way to tease the full release - Aurora borealis poster??? Are there Northern Lights on the surface??!! THERE IS!!! OH I LOVE IT SO MUCH - Damage from being too cold! Yay! - the thought that I keep circling back to is that as soon as I put down any machinery this asteroid is not really going to be cold anymore. If I want my gameplay to involve low temperatures in the future I am going to be forced to make it cold myself since so many machines will produce heat that will destroy my current setup - Looks like night ambience sometimes gets stuck and plays nonstop. Fixed on reload. - Bonbon gourds digging themselves out is full of potential, I'm gonna try an anti snow meteor setup with it A few hours, extremely simple base, I'll probably start over and try doing more with it when I sit down to play again I do hope that mixing DLC's means this planetoid will appear somewhere in the cluster, and that any future DLC's will work the same- if we had a whole expansion for the water planetoid that includes tons of marine mobs and plants that would be so cool. As for this one, I really love it so far! Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157536-feedback/ Share on other sites

I usually play with the music off, since I am generally not trying to focus on it. I'll have to listen now. I think OP was talking about Bonbon gourds consuming snow tiles that have them entombed. I haven't seen it myself, so I could be wrong. asurendra
1 hour ago, Primalflower said: oh? Can someone elaborate on this mechanic? If trees become burrowed by falling snow, sand (or other materials that can fall) it automatically dig that tiles into debris. Works with fully grown trunk and branches (partially grown branches cant unburrow). Also doesnt work with solids that cant fall (thats usually player fault, cant happen by itself) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157536-feedback/#findComment-1729326 Share on other sites
BezKa
Yep, works like a dream, and passively produces nectar. I made it in Sandbox because I play so slowly it would have taken me a real life year to do it in survival. Tried shooting them with other meteors, but most are so hot they kill the plants before they can untomb. So only really viable for snow meteors. suicide commando
I recommend you put some more lights on top of those gourds, to work optimally all 5 branches need 10k Lux. In my current base I've got about half of that, wondering if I should build a few sun lamps on top of them or stick to lots of regular lights. The quartz are a nice addition too though, I moved a bunch of carved ones next to the trees for some additional free lighting. I want the snow to access them, and putting stuff on top won't allow that. Maybe getting some light sources under the tiles and changing them to glass will work, but that might require cooling, which the current setup doesn't need if once it's temperature has been set Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157536-feedback/#findComment-1730381 Share on other sites
suicide commando
I meant in your base setup, not the snow meteor defense setup, though I'm not sure if your base setup is for making nectar. Nectar is useable in the polymer press to make plastic, and with all the cold, it's heat isn't much of an issue.
